NEVER STRIKE OUT AGAIN?! In today's video Coach Justin from Ultimate Baseball Training will show you a few baseball hitting tips to help you reduce your strike outs while hitting.
The first important thing to understand is it’s not realistic to expect yourself to never strike out.
Hitting a baseball is one of the toughest things to do in sports. That being said, there are some tips you can focus on that will greatly reduce your strikeouts.
The first tip is to move closer to the plate. The majority of strike outs happen on the outside part of the plate, so you want to try your best to take away that part of the zone.
You also want to think outside and react in. It's much easier to expect an outside pitch and react to an inside pitch than it is to do the opposite.
Another tip is to minimize head movement. The more your head moves, the more your eyes will move. This will make pitch recognition more difficult.
Remember, if you struggle hitting with two strikes, don’t get to two strikes. Force contact early.
Expand your zone and swing at anything close. If you can reach it with your bat, put it in play. Don't leave it up to the umpire.
Tell yourself, “I’m swinging until it’s a ball.” This will help you stay aggressive.
Lastly, remember to shorten up and don’t try to do too much. The most important thing is to put the ball in play and give yourself a chance.

Excellent tips. Thank you 🙏🏼
Do you have any videos correcting bat drag?? My sons developed it this summer. His back elbow is getting in front of his hands and into his belly button well before hip turn. Opposite field power, but also a lot of high pop ups to infield. Thanks, love your videos!
Thanks this will help a lot for my new season

It all may sound simple but it's logic and correct. I agree with all you said
Yes! Closer to the Plate! I have been saying this for years, it allows you full plate coverage and to maintain your swing mechanics without reaching for that outside pitch! Your the best! I always had stressed keeping your head still all the way until contact your hands will move with your head (eyes).Great video!

Nice video coach justin
This helped a lot now I strike out once or twice every 5 games
Love the idea of minimizing the head movement + the mentality of "I'm swinging (until it's a ball)"!
Thx justin

Coach Justin I agree with almost everything in this video. My concern is getting close to the plate at a youth level. I’ve managed 9U and younger rec ball and club ball. I’ve seen numerous kids go to a hitting coach who tells them the same thing. They get into a game and their relationship is so close to the plate that when a fastball is thrown inside they just watch it go past because they’ve been told by crowding the plate will cause younger pitchers to throw outside. They don’t give it a second thought about throwing the knob of the bat at the ball and driving inside pitches. Your advice is not wrong by any means. I hope it doesn’t come across like I’m saying that. It’s just with our youth players out there they need to learn to drive these inside pitches that are strikes. Just my 2 cents.

Nothing against what you said but you said 9u and and lower rec. Once kids get older and they have found the zone they know to swing if they are close to the plate and see and inside pitch they can hit it.
I used to get tricked with outside pitches thx for the help

I’m 15 and last year I was one of the best hitters off the team but this year I’ve been striking out or when I do make contact it’s always grounders or pop flies. I only ever get on bag when I walk. My batting average is horrible. It fluctuates from .180-.200. I feel useless and makes me feel terrible when others are hitting doubles and triples while I can’t even hit a single.

Thank you can not hit an outside pitch at all cause I was thinking inside
Are you in Utah? Those mountains, behind you look familiar.
I'm a new High School Ball Player, and I am absolutely terrible. I have already tried your tips for beginners, but I still drop the bat and swing late. How can I get my timing right and focus on bringing the bat level? Thanks!

Watch The Little League World Series and so many Japanese kids are CLOSE to the plate. Great advice from a man that only struck out three times in 20-years of baseball. Then again, I only had five at bats because I was the stats manager
Dude my season been bad because we’re 1 for 4 and I only hit once and all the other times I struck out
I am teaching my son to just forget about balls and strikes. Just find pitches he thinks he can hit, and then swing at them. Let the ump worry about balls and strikes.
It's nice to give jobs to the handicapped. I like that you gave a blind guy a chance to draw the batter's box.
It’s easier to aim for outside pitch then adjust inside than the other way around
I cant stop striking out.
I just struck out
Hey Justin! Do you accept videos and give tips???

"there is no bad hops on a strikeout" Dropped third strike: 🙃🙃🙃
One thing that I believe will greatly reduce your chances of striking out...is never wearing shorts when playing or instructing baseball. To paraphrase Crash...when you get to the show you can wear shorts and the press will think you're colorful...but until you get to the show, it means you are a softball player in an industrial league.
You should swing more to show us what your talking about instead of just talking about it just a suggestion
Baseball is a game of failure people stop thinking you gonna be perfect because it will never happen. Is so ridiculous already
