Long playing records and cassette tapes are obsolete now and sales on cd's are not as good as before because you don't need to buy them, you just use free apps like you tube and others and you can listen to any music that you like for free as long as you have internet or free wifi so there is no way a singer in this generation can sell their music more than the record sales that Michael Jackson, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey etc. has done.
