Never Going Back To Gas Powered Hedge Trimmers Again!

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

On to the next job! We head over to a different condo for more weekly mowing and edging as well as more hedge trimming. I really have been like the Husqvarna battery power trimmer, so much so that I am switching over to battery power hedge trimmers (but not string trimmers...they aren't there yet)

I have a love/hate relationship with the battery equipment from Husky. I purchased 2- 536lihe3, 2-520ihe3 and 1-520iht4. All have been in for warranty motor replacement several times. I was given two new units under warranty, both of those were also in for motor replacement. That's a total of 7 new units all of them have failed, plus they have had replacement motors fail multiple times as well. I thought the 520iht4 with the brushless motor would solve the problem, but it's in the shop as I write this. I'm approaching 40hrs of travel time dropping off and picking them up as well as being without the use of the equipment. I was forced to buy a couple of gas units to have some dependable equipment. It's so frustrating as our crew loves using all the battery equipment we have, they perform very well when they work. They are used approximately 6hrs a day 5 days a week. 30yrs in business, they are the most unreliable equipment we've ever used. 🤬

I thought the same thing. But the electric models and batteries are phasing models out quick like car companies. That means new models have to be purchased. The gas models are built with better materials and last longer. My first Stihl product is 14 years old and works like new. Electric trimmer from 2 years ago cant get parts anymore. Im also not one for having batteries made by children.

Nice hedge trimming job, considering they are way overgrown. The homeowner/HOA should consider having them replaced with smaller/easier to manage bushes. Mine are also way too overgrown and I insist to my landscaper to trim them way back, but he keeps saying too much may kill them. But I actually don't care and want them to either die off or have them pulled out. So I'm buying a cordless 40v hedge trimmer this week and doing it myself.

It's been a workhorse but I no longer am, and wanted to make my job easier. kzread.infoUgkx_rBCFuDW1zD6blTGhLkvAkxU657uR_lG Around the corners, the small side yard etc. was a pain to run the cord out to, so I bought this thinking I'd use it for touch-ups and hard to reach places. Well, I haven't used the corded one since! This is so light weight and so much easier. It has all the power I need because I start wearing down after about 20 minutes and I haven't run out of battery yet. It takes about two hours to charge. I've used it about twice a week for a month and still have line left too. My favorite feature is the blade inside the shield that keeps the line trim to where I don't even have to think about it. You can see from my pic that it's been heavily used and I probably should clean it more often. Very happy with it.

I've used a battery powered Stihl string trimmer for a few years. Light and agile, it works VERY well. Battery usually lasts all day (for 1 employee per residential route). I would never go back to a gas string trimmer again.

Hi Doug, would you mind sharing why you won’t go back to gas powered? Weight?

If you had to purchase those trimmers would you? They’re $399 idk if a battery/charger is included. Great video!

After using the Husqvarna yes I would! I would try out the Stihl battery trimmer first but honestly man I've been really happy with battery trimmers and have been using them for the past almost 2 months straight

@@gglawncare560 the Husqvarna weight is fairly responsible...I've been using the Milwaukee articulating trimmer they came out with this year and it is a lot heavier...plus it has the annoying homeowner dummy switch

The person or people who decided to hide the transformer and phone junction box with those shurbs made a big mistake long story short when the electrical transformer blows or the phone junction box gets hit some one is to be up s+#t Creek because both of those shurbs are in the way which means someone is going to have to replace them.☹️☹️☹️☹️
