They tried to age her up with dowdy clothes and bad hair but she had a more youthful baby face than the popular girls(sans Jessica Alba who was an actual teenager) 😂

@@cheesecake134 Drew's always had a youthful baby face, even today, which makes her casting as an 'older person pretending to be a teenager' even weirder/funnier. Marley Shelton, who is playing one of the *actual* teens, is, as another poster says, about a year older than Drew, although, tbf, she also has a very youthful look (which was particularly noticeable when she played the mother of one of the teenagers in the new Scream film, a franchise in which Drew, of course, played an *actual* teenager, a few years before NBK).

One if the best movies of the 90s

When I discovered this lovely movie in 2013, I was one year out of high school and going through two phases. The first phase was my post high school romcom. The second was my 90’s baby what did I miss out on in my childhood. The last time I watched was Valentine’s Day on Disney Plus

A great high school comedy. This makes She’s All That look like Muriel’s Wedding

Drew Barrymore is one of my fav actors I love never been kissed I have it on DVD it was sad when Josie got dressed up for her prom and got eggs thrown at her face i felt so sad for her it was mean seeing her runaway and cry but im so glad she got the teacher in the end that was so awesome

... well, actually a plot point involves the adult man getting in trouble for creeping on teenage girls... and the plot addresses the underage boy thing as well Mostly with her just going, "yeah... at least I didn't creep on kids... like that man over there..."

they cannot . its a great movie. This movie really rises head and shoulders above the league of teenage romantic comedies. Yes its pure fantasy but it does it really well.

Comments like Netflix was making movies back in 1999 and “can’t wait for the movie to come out” worries me a lot this is a 1999 movie made in late 90’s no Netflix back then. 😠

Never Been Kissed is okay and I really hate 17 Again. There was only one teenager movie I liked where the main character is an adult pretending to be a teenager and that was the 2012 movie 21 Jump Street.

I remember the first time I saw a movie by myself in a movie theater I was 10, but at the time I didn't feel comfortable when that happened, and it took me until I was 14 to be okay with seeing movies by myself in a movie theater.

I was a geek as well.

Coming to Disney Plus in September, due to Fox/20th Century Studios being owned by Disney.

I came to see the trailer after Khabib made a comment about this movie LOL

Only issue is that the storyline kind of goes against 'As You Like It'. Yes there is the disguise element and I'm glad they brought that up but the point about As You Like It, which as Josie pointed out is a 'pastoral comedy', is that it's set in the forest, away from civilisation and everything that's involved with it including society and social status, exactly like the popular group in a high school. None of the characters are trying to get into 'the court' or to fit in and be 'hip', they've been kicked out of society and find themselves in a forest.

Whyyyy dont they make movies like this anymoreeee
