    Does Hollywood not have the capacity for imagination any longer? Everything is either a remake, a remaster attempt, a remake with new cast/diversity, or some utterly awful show/movie. I am serious now, what happened to the classics like from the 80s and 90s that were fun, stupid, silly, and an enjoyable way to waste a few hours? What happened to just dorking out with a movie and not being bombarded about race, or politics, or some other stupid crap? Hollywood, and the music industry for that matter, feel dead to me. The problem is that sports seems to have recently caught the same disease and little by little are eroding what once was great as well. I just don't get it. I don't get why even a single person would care to revisit the Scream series decades later. Why not come up with a new scary concept?

  • @Modern_Atlas

    @Modern_Atlas

    2 жыл бұрын

    Why? Because Scream is an iconic piece of a lot of peoples memories when it comes to horror movies and thrillers. The idea of another movie in the franchise is much better than launching a new series or individual movie because the back story and focal characters are already established. There's plenty of films for you to go watch that are original concepts and creations. The better question you should be asking yourself is, why do you care what Hollywood does?

  • @mspionage1743

    @mspionage1743

    @@Modern_Atlas If memory serves Scream came out, what, 20 years ago? I won't deny it was a cool film but what the hell is there a need for more films which all result in the same bottom line? There are none, it's just a cash grab. My point is that the imagination of these film makers has dipped drastically if one considers how often we get these things, or sequels, or sequel sequels, or sequel sequels multiplied by eight, or other bullshit. Compare that with the 90s and beforehand and consider how often new and interesting stuff came out, it was every damn month. Now we just get sequels, same genre, remakes, and that's about it. That is literally all we get. It's stupid to accept that as good.

    @@mspionage1743 the makers of this new Scream already did that, it's called 'Ready or Not'. Go watch it if you're looking for an original, great movie. Now they're doing Scream - one of the most successful horror franchises of all time. Us fans were dying for a sequel and what do you know - it's getting rave reviews and killing it at the box office. We can have both original movies and franchise sequels. They can co-exist.
