​@@rev2059i think yall should start noticing that furina in her crazy mode is more of an a character, and i think they want us to see that she can be calm, and mature at times just as she can be playful and silly furina needs to entertain her people to make them happy and feel excited on the judgments to obtain energy for the oratrice, so i really think that in some extent, furina is only playing a role

if u haven't watched the video yet, SPOILER: From the moment Vautrin started yelling I had a feeling he was acting tbh. Because I also thought he'd accept his punishment in a mature "yes, that's what I did and I acted outside the law' typa way. So when he yelled I was taken aback, but then i was like....oh, but it makes sense if he's still trying to make people trust Neuvillette and his leadership. Posing that justice question and having Neuvilette respond with a guilty verdict shows the people that no matter who you are, what your background, and what your relationship to the people in power, if you commit a crime, Neuvilette will judge you fairly and the same as he judges anyone else, which is the exact quality a judge should have. It essentially cemented his place in society as the objective, unbiased, fair judge. Kind of bittersweet to think that was essentially Vautrin's last act as Captain, and that he never got a chance to talk to Neuvillette afterwards which meant Neuvillette legitimately thought Vautrin hated him for FOUR HUNDRED YEARS when he was actually helping him the whole time. I'm crying this is such a good quest. Agh poor Carole and Vautrin TT Also TRAVELER TALKING?????!!!! it wasn't even an Archon Quest I hope Hoyo keeps adding more traveler speaking lines and not just one sentence in AQs here and there

Neuvillette is actually such a strong person (not just as a character in game but as like a person in genuine). Not only did he live through a close member going through suicide, but also putting one of his own friends into jail. Respectttttt ✊ edit: omg im famous eek

Wow I didn't even pick up on the symbolism of the rain in the cutscene. How he thinks that the rain is how people saw him. Makes his subtle reaction to the kid saying Hydro Dragon don't cry much more impactful

That's what he meant by "intended to do a small business" which was delivering some goods and obtaining a generous sum of Mora in return. The way English localization phrased it is a little ambigous, yes. But in Chinese and Japanese, it is much more clearer.

Before 4.2, I too thought this was Furina's voice. I now understand that this was Focalors all along, setting Neuvillette on the path to empathy and compassion. He would ultimately be the one to forgive the sins of Fontainians because of it, thereby fulfilling Egeria's original justice. "You are a devious one, Focalors," hit so hard when I realised it.

Also remember we only hear this voice narrating in the background. You might be assuming this voice was talking to Neuvillette or that he heard this voice, but it's just a narrative device. And even if it was a conversation between Focalors/Furina and Neuvillette, why would Furina say this? It would imply Furina knew the plan when she didn't at all, which causes problems with consistency.

This quest line did not need to hit home😭😭😭 this… this honestly hit home for me. I was bullied badly at one point and almost considered what Carole does… it breaks my heart. But the ending made me smile.😭

Carole is now may fave Melusine!! (2nd is Aeval) It's heartbreaking when she said ppl have thrown rocks at her and it hurts... poor baby!!! Must protect!!

Neuvillette would be passive aggressive toward zhongli tho... even if he didn't outright hate the archons, his voice held a hint of contempt in his characters dialogue about them (except for Nahida. With her, he felt sympathy because even though she is archon with great power, she was still getting mistreated by her people)... plus, he laughed and even wheezed at "certain" people that walk around wearing fake vision(venti and zhongli)😂

@@dana_0612 I’m not so sure he would be passive aggressive just because he’s the new water sovereign…he’s fine with Furina, who is the direct wielder his water sovereign power that was stolen. And he also made it sound like she could seemingly willingly give it back to him…and he’s not mad at her for it…he’s pretty kind to Furina actually, and works directly with her, and voice lines at the end of his story suggest some version of Furina invited him to the human world…compare his relationship as the confirmed water sovereign with Furina and Fontaine….vs Apep who was probably the dendro sovereign and her treatment of Nahida and Sumeru. If he held any contempt for his situation, he wouldn’t be willingly working with and for human in the new world the Archons created for them. He wouldn’t be inviting Melusines into human society, If he was upset with the archons he could be treating Furina more like the Knave does and blaming her for Fontaine’s current predicament. I think he would definitely treat any archon he met differently than a regular human or god we’ve met, which would be refreshing. Of course he would laugh at them for wearing visions and hiding. He’s a fucking dragon walking around in broad daylight and using his powers and living for hundreds of years and no one in Fontaine really cares or bothers to guess his identity. Laughing at them doesn’t mean he would be contemptuous though. I think he’s more concerned about the future and finding where he feels like he fits in the world vs the past and being the water dragon heir. He’s not like Apep at all. I think his final Ascension line kind of confirms he only has real beef with the Second Who Came.

Awesome! I was waiting for your gameplay of this quest! Hearing Furina's calm voice in the cutscene and her letter response makes me impatient to want to see even more of her and her relationship with Neuvillette

This could rival Sumeru's story telling at its best! Just a story quest, yet really shaped melusines and neuvillete as characters, even further. Before, I always think melusines are, "just there", but with this genius of storytelling the melusines "are there" (if you know, you know). I love this story quest, if this is only a story quest, imagine the succeeding archon quests are going to be.

It's already better than most of the sumeru characters' story quest (aside from maybe Dehya's).

His story quest does not need a combat trial. It's just that good.

This story quest is the only quest which made me ball my eyes out and have a full mental breakdown, the image of Carole killing herself is stuck in my mind I hate it , I love this quest so much 😢

This and tighnari's story got me tearing up.

Your playthrough of this quest is the best one I've seen. The way you appreciate the NPCs, your grasp of the situation they're in, your love for the story makes this playthrough so engaging to listen to every time.

Watching neuvillette’s emotional development since act 1 to his story quest was such a treat. He is gradually opening up little by little and come to understand his place amongst the people. Of course his story with the rest of fontaine is far from over i’m very excited where the story will take us

This quest genuinely made me cry and is the first to ever do so. I love Neuvillette to the fullest is one of my top 3 favorite characters. He and the melusines deserve all the love in the world!💖

From leaks to official PV, i was never attracted by Nuevi unitl I finally meet him in the Archon quest, I was surpirsed by his personality, his emotional, his power, his play style and now his memory, I must say he really is full of surprises 😊

Wryothesley being ready to beat the shit out of the prospective conspirator for Sigewinne was gold.

"Hydro Dragon, Hydro Dragon, Don't cry" Neuvillette before 4.2: Instantly cheered up. Neuvillette after 4.2: Flood the city with his tear.

If you talked to the NPCs defending Melusines, you'll find more lore. Apparently the Garde hat's logos haven't always been designed that way. An image of a Melusine has been added to it to honor Carole, but it's been so long hardly anyone remembers it.

Definitely one of the most emotional story quest for me. Carole's suicide relly broke my heart, how could the people back then treat these cuties like that they did nothing wrong 😭💔 Seeing the current people of Fontaine now willing to protect the Melusines with no hesitations really touched me, we must protect the Melusines at all cos! This is by far one of my favorite story quest

Neuvilette. What a king. This story is all about racism and defending those who take liberties against those of different backgrounds. Like really. It's a free to play video game.

I loved this quest so much. I cried during the cutscene bc I was so happy. Neuvillette is such a good character.

Like dang...400 years ago, the people of Fontaine really dislike the Melusines n Neuvillette altho tbf...it is understandable bcos no one like changes and strangers let alone non-human creatures. @@di8085 incorrect nahida did NOT make the aranara stay way from adults it was the result of the lie by the former sages that dreams are only childish and by extension this effected how people saw the aranara. or rather they lost the ability because they relegated them to childish dreams. before the sages before the calamity of kaenri'ah humans and aranara coexisted together. the ensuing calamity and the lies of the sages after are why only children can see the aranara. the thought that aranara are just fairy tales won't go away easy and thus it will take a long time before humans will see aranara again

When it comes to this story quest in terms of the theme of prejudice and hate, it really hits home for me since I can relate to their situation where I had trouble fitting in. And also this story quest, can be a box office movie in itself cause the storytelling is ABSOLUTELY TOP NOTCH as always. With that said, I absolutely loved this story quest a lot and ngl it really got me emotional too 😢

He wasnt falsely convicted, he's trying to claim that because he was ignorant to the fact that he was smuggling things, that he shouldnt be guilty of anything. But the fact of the matter is that he didnt ask any questions, and was delivering goods he knew nothing about for mora, he was still smuggling things even if he didnt know what they were, so he is still guilty.

I know folks hate on Paimon, but Paimon out of pocket comments are precious jewels of comedy and cringe a like. The game would be somewhat less without them. Big sis Paimon was wholesome.

48:45 There was a misunderstanding-basically, it wasn’t a combination of different ARTSTYLES, neither was it the hoyofair artists combined together. It was different 3D animators, with their original 3D styles, and they all made their part, and it was turned into a Teyvat journey montage! Fontaine is definitely the region with the best stories so far and sumeru was the best when it came out as well all the hidden stuff and wanting to find out what is what made me not want to stop playing Sumeru was great but even that felt a bit annoying to get through at times I really can't wait to see what's up with Furina next patch

This quest was such a banger. I love this and Lyney’s so much.

This quest was very emotional and when that kid said hydro dragon don't cry it made me cry.

I DID THE STORY QUEST WHEN IT FIRST CAME OUT AND IT'S PROBABLY ONE OF THE MOST SADDEST BUT COOLEST ONE 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

A witch that created the origin of Melusine(if you play the world quest you will know Mamare-painter Melusine's father is the Origin of Melusine and also the creation of the same with witch which created Albedo)

Notice how we didn't got to use him as a trail character in the entire quest😂😂 But seriously locking the character quests now behind archon quests is such a godly thing they've brought. Now they can write stories that only be understood by doing the archon quest, like Imagine doing raiden date quest and in main story you just met raiden yet 💀 But in this case you'd know not much without doing archon quest so without any fear of progress in main story they can write good stories

This is the 2nd story quest that made me in tears... the 1st one is Tighnari's with the robot crab and it's master... Dehya's made me sad too but these 2 made me turned into hydro dragon myself😭

It's amazing that Neuvillette's story quest involved a lot of characters, Clorinde and Navia as well
