    And how to differentiate axons from dendrites in a histological section? They look the same at the slide (in color and thickness)... thanks!

    we cannot always distinguish them, but it is mainly based on the fact that dendrites branch and contain ribosomes (Nissl substance) as shown in the video, while axons do not branch and we can observe the so-called axon hillock that no longer contains ribosomes (like the entire axon). Since ribosomes are basophilic structures, axons should be therefore more eosinophilic.
