@@ps5andstuffhere It's what usually happens in football on your second yellow. What happens is if you commit an action the pitch the referee seems punishable, he may give you a yellow card. Then if you do something else that consistently gets a player booked, like kicking the ball away, then you'll get a second yellow. This now earns you a red card and you have to leave the pitch. I hope this was helpful to you and all others who are new to football.

Players were getting far more praise than they deserved on here, with Doyle calling Fodden fantastic, and they said this is the best England have played and it's STILL not good enough for you. The key to this match was a player who was not there, De Jong..He supplied attacking power but also deepline defence, i never thought for a minute they would score in the second half, their midfield was permeable..It was a real weakness that Watkins exposed in the end..

EXCEPTIONAL? That's your exceptional? You don't have the first clue about football and what makes a good performance. Rice in particular was nothing during that whole match. He lost the ball for the Netherlands goal and then proceeded to pass the pass from side to side and back to the defence for the rest of the match. He looked tiring by 60 mins and lacked confidence on the ball. Same old thing comes out of the England fans after every game. You select one or two players, seemingly at random, and claim they were (insert hyperbolic phrase here). Darragh Maloney went into half time and said that Fodden was outstanding. OUTSTANDING. Have all of you literally just started watching football and you don't have actual good performances to compare to?? At least make the effort and go back a decade or so and watch a compilation of a player who was said to have a famously good match and compare that with what yysee out there. Raise your standards. You're all actively participating in the lowering of quality in football.

Spain have played the better football, played better as a team & have beaten the tougher opponents than England have in this tournament. Spain will also have an extra days rest before the final too, Spain have all the advantages & should win comfortably however in a one off final anything can happen so England have a chance to cause an upset however Spain have played too good to ruin it in one game so I'm going for a 3-1 Spain win. Only England fans will believe they can win, everyone else has Spain to win it & Spain could humble England or England might make it a more closer game but this is where England's luck will run out in my opinion, I see nothing else than a Spanish victory however it comes.

One of the few comments with any football intelligence. Can't predict a one off match you can only go off previous games, which seems to really hurt peoples feelings when it clashes with what they'd like to happen. If this tournament has any hope of not being a total embarrassment then Spain needs to win it. It should still be remembered as a poor example of Europes footballing nations but at least people could say Spain were one of the better teams,.

Well done England, their best performance of the tournament so far. It'll be some final on Sunday.

It’s irrelevant. If he scored and it was taken and a penalty given, the penalty would be a goal. Also, the idea of a penalty is to penalise a team - not penalise the victim, so no, the goal wouldn’t have been taken unless it was an England player who committed the fail. If you knew ball you’d know that.

Commentators on England performances up to this game have all made the same mistake. They have seriously disrespected indeed seem to have completely ignored in many cases the quality of England's opposition. All of these teams qualified and therefore none of them are mugs. They can all play football, have experienced coaches and a high level of fitness. The English team may earn 50 times more then they do but this does not in itself make them play football any better. These players are all highly motivated to win for their country and make a name for themselves in the hope that they may get a contract to play for a high ranking European team. Holland was always going to be a different type of team because Dutch players are a different type of player. As such it was always going to be a more open game and this would give the English players more space to play in. Spain will provide a similar or even more open game producing more goal scoring opportunities and both ends. IMO the two best and well coached teams in these finals are now meeting in the final, which is how it is supposed to be.

Not one thing you've said can be backed up. It's like an A.I wrote your comment. All these teams can play football? Then why didn't the Dutch play football? All these teams are motivated to win? Then why didn't they show any motivation to win? If anything everyone has overrated England's opposition. Every team they've played turned up with arguably their worst performance of the tournament. You try to claim the amount of space and time players had on the ball was because of the type of players the Dutch players are and the way the team plays. Total nonsense. If this was specific to the Dutch then how do you explain every other match in the tournament being the same. Players consistently have acres of space and unlimited time on the ball, including inside the opposition's penalty box. Go look through the tournaments goals and note every time a player involved in a goal is standing around unchallenged and unpressured. These modern players could not handle a tight marking, high pressure game.

Personally I think Holland played poorly, they didn't press England the way other teams did. England had all the time on the ball, I was thinking wheres the press? It was completely absent from Holland. The penalty was very fortunate. And the second England goal, was shocking defending, the defender didn't even attempt to block the ball. The scorer did nothing special, took the ball in his path and whack it. Easily defendable.

@@czhaok He did nothing to deceive the defender, it was nothing but a well hit shot from a freshly brought on player. The defender did nothing to block the shot. Probably didn't expect the player to shoot, which meant he underestimated the striker, had that been kane, the defender may have been more aggressive.

Rodri in my unpopular opinion can't cope with the pace if pressed, blowing out of his arse against France at times, but if you let him and Spain keep the ball they'll just pass you to death. Saka, Foden, Palmer, Bellingham and Kane can cause Spain all manner of problems for me though, I'd back England - comfortably IF they get after Spain. I love the Irish btw because my grandad was Irish and I never want England to beat Ireland I hope Ireland get a point off us in September and in all games, couldn't cheer against Ireland or England as daft as that sounds I follow Irish results also, but I wish that anti English bigot James McClean had been in the studio he's have been slating Rice again and making excuses. Are you a Liverpool fan? so am I, (born there) actually Stevie didn't carry Didi, a man who outside of Carra and Stevie, changed the CL final. His punditry on RTE goes back over a decade now, obvs you've not being paying attention to "potato land" punditry as you put it, with John Giles, Liam Brady and firebrand Eamonn Dunphy their punditry has been proverbially crapping on BBC/ITV for years, just you wouldn't know that as you say we are just potato eaters.

I'm sure Didi will be worried that some twat on KZread has taken away his invitation to Liverpool. He'll get over it once he realises you're a nobody with no power or effect on anything and if he went to Liverpool he'd be surrounded by fans wanting pics and autographs for being a quality player for their team for years. Does this not make you think? This is football where anything can happen on the day and yet you "fully expect" an England win. Netherlands are a poor team. England were way the better team and Netherlands offered very little. It’s a shame for Dumfries though because he was the standout for the Dutch. If it wasn’t for him they lose by more here. Dumfries didn’t deserve that.

You just gave yourself away by claiming Dumfries was the standout for the Dutch. They had no standout. Weghorst or whatever he's called gets a slight bit of credit for trying to get the team to push up and move for each other but he hardly set the game on fire. Dumfries was useless, missed chances and wasn't he also the guy who gave away the penalty?? And you say he was the standout.
