Yes it's the hypocrisy, reduce her own house ownership by 50% and free up a property for someone else! Don't be silly, the Labour party is voted in by a combination of people who aren't interested in work and people who are rich enough to be able to afford to move to the dwindling number of places where it is still relatively nice to live (until they get there that is). The majority will be having their rent and many other expenses paid for by the average person.

I lived in Swindon for a great many years and 'new' estates and built up areas popped up everywhere. The net result? The sense of community disappeared, and the place has simply become a huge dormitory area. This has ushered in crime as so many people do not care about the place. I would not wish this sort of disaster on anyone.

Amazing how Labour seem to be regarded as the party for the working class and house building when the reality in anything but. The current Labour party isn't a patch on the Attlee government. Sure they built an average of 200k houses a year. The Tory government that followed though in 1951 led by Churchill built 300k a year with responsibility given to McMillan. Even in modern times, the Labour government from 1997 built less than the Tory government that followed them. The UK is already grossly overpopulated. Where are all these houses, schools, hospitals and roads supposed to be built? It sounds like we will have no land for farming and outsource all food production. Haven't politicians learnt anything about history? Each country should be self sufficient in food production and defence.

Don't worry Michelle, these aren't homes for the indigenous folks, did you notice how the ginger growler called them settlements. Settlement is a term usually used to describe the location at which people first make landfall. From this it is safe to assume that such people as will be 'settled' in these settlements will in all likelihood have arrived by boat, as the first settlers did in the North America, Australia & New Zealand. They probably will be good quality though, it wouldn't do to house these people who've been living in tents probably for most of their lives in some cases, in anything other than top quality accommodation regardless of the cost (financial or otherwise) to those of us who do actually belong in this country.

To build a 'new milton keynes' will require new roads, expand gas, water, sewers, drains, telecoms supplies, new hospital, schools, etc etc, Who paying for this, you are reading this, through your income, council tax, utility bills. Ella whelan makes it sounds so easy. Develoepers want green belt and farm land end of, it far easier to build on, the cost to ise brown sites will be passed onto the consumer, which makes it not afforable housing anyway. No farm land due to housing means more imports for food stuffs that we pay for at the till. There is no end to this arguemt. No one is right really
