Nice panel.

I live in NJ. In the spring and summer months. It works like it's supposed to. But after daylight savings, it Solar Panel mostly drains my battery. I've contacted Google about this and had to reset my doorbell 5 times. It's great when it's nice, but in the colder months, I wouldn't recommend it. The sad part is I have a Wasserstein solar on my back door Nest Battery Camera, and that one never had any issues. It has the Solar Power symbol when it's attached, but the doorbell doesn't. I don't think the Nest Doorbell is meant to work well with it. I read a lot of reviews, and it seems like it's not compatible. Thanks for the video. I bought my solar panel last year based on it, but unfortunately, I think Google needs to do better their home security devices. They all work seamlessly different.

Interesting. I can say, in the winter months I see my battery get to 50% but it never dies and solar panel keeps it charge. Even to this day as I still use it. Granted I'm in Georgia so we don't get the weather that NJ gets.

It’s really hard to buy this doorbell in the UK. Do you know any websites where it can be sent from different country to UK?

Does the wire for the google nest doorbell come with the unit? I keep seeing it advertised for only the regular cameras?

Yes, the Nest Doorbell Battery came with the cables needed. They actually should have a new one out in about 2 weeks, That is only a wired nest doorbell. It's replacing the Nest Hello wired doorbell. It should be announced on the October 7th event next month.

Can anyone help, I keep plugging mine into the doorbell using the inserts but it wont show solar power. Does it have to be sunny for it to quick off? How do I tell it that I’m using a solar panel

The battery will show the infinite logo and you won't see the battery icon when watch the live view. When there's no sun, the battery icon will appear and you will know the percentage of the doorbell battery

Hmm mine isn't showing plugged in/solar even when exposed to full sun for over 1hr+. The thing doesn't even charge the battery as it's stayed on ~25% battery charge when I check at night over 72hour full sunny period. I don't have much foot traffic in front of doorbell too since I live in a cul de sac. Tried contacting Google but kept getting the "Please try again during support hours." issue when it says support hour is "12:00 AM-11:59 PM".

You may have to reset the camera and set it back up. I know a few people had to do that.

Does it keep the doorbell charged after a while of use or does it die anyway cause my dies faster than that

Mine stays charged all the time. It's normally at 100% besides when I have a lot of traffic. Like a weekend with an gathering with a lot of people going in and out, then I might it down to 90% but after a few days it back to 100%.

Reviews on Amazon and reddit are saying its "a waste of money", "scam product", and "still have to unscrew and charge it as if solar panel wasn't even there". So naturally I'm hesitant now. Can we get an update message here? Are you still using it? did it crap out on you too? Do you have to constantly charge it like you did before purchasing panel?

I can say, I've been using this since it was installed the day I made this video. I'm still using it to this day. My battery shows as plugged in" but the icon looks about 80% full. I can say I haven't had any issues and it's worked great. I'd highly recommend one if you don't have wiring like us.

sorry those panels are useless do the test cover it on a sunny day and you will see that it does not charge the battery

Yeah, most reviews I've read on Amazon stated that they were practically useless.

@@j.davidosorio1154 well yea its only rated at 1.5W which is practically nothing. It going to barely make .5W specially if people aren't putting it directly in the sun.
