Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Hello guys,
Today I am coming back to you with another quick video where I want to show you the most common problem for Nespresso machines and how to fix it. Not many of you know that Nespresso machines also have a diffuser plate that can be removed and cleaned. Enjoy!

Oh my, you are a legend. Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you. At first I did clean this with just some toilet paper and brushing it with my thumb. To no result. Now I tried with an old toothbrush and it released so much old coffee grinds. Then when I went to go for one cup of just hot water, I also brushed the nossle as it was coming out and it released even more old grinds. Did this 3-4 times. Now the machine doesnt just work again, it also tastes brand new. Thank you.

Thank you so much buddy! We took apart the machine, cleaned everything but we were not aware that we could remove the diffuser plate and clean it as well. We were about to order a new part for the machine (replacing the whole capsule holding part) but after we removed the diffuser and cleaned each hole with a needle, there is not a drop leaking! Thanks again, you saved us £50.00!

If you don't want to disassemble the machine; Use electric toothbrush and baking powder to clean the diffuser plate. Then get an empty Nespresso pod and fill it with baking powder. Fill the reservoir with half water, half spirit vinegar and run 5-10 descale cycles. Clean the diffuser plate again with the electric toothbrush. Run some more cycles with clean water and voila.... No more leaking!! I hadn't cleaned my machine properly in 10 years and the above method fixed it for me :) Now I'm going to regularly descale 😅

So glad to see a close up look at the insides of my machine (I have the same as shown in this video). The first few months of using my new Nespresso machine, I knew nothing about rinsing or cleaning, and consequently the coffee oils and layers of dried espresso built up and clogged everything. After a major deep cleaning with brushes and rinses and cleaning capsules, seeing flakes and chunks of dried espresso coming out of the brewing chamber, I figured out that going forward, simply running a few clean water rinses through after every morning espresso - *until the water runs clear* - keeps the layers of espresso inside from drying and building up in the first place. For a diffuser plate to get so clogged as to require a wire poking through the diffuser holes to manually clear them - is a sign of ages of use with no rinsing or cleaning whatsoever. Nespresso instructions only tell you how to brew or descale - they never mention a thing about simply rinsing after each brew - so it's no wonder nobody suspects you need to do more to keep it clean and everyone ends up with clogged, coated breaking down machines.

Thanks Adrian! Toothbrush worked. Just to be sure and because I remembered my Quickmill manual I repeated the proces with a steel wool pan sponge and the handle of a dishwashing brush. Works like a charm. My alternative method would have been using a bike pump to blow through the nozzle and hence cleaning the diffuser plate ;-)

truly appreciate it. i had a bit of coffee in the cup and lots of water around the machine :) think it could be the same problem of clogged outlets. Nespresso was willing to pick and repair for S$120/- with 6 months guarantee. :/ n was pushing me for an upgrade. will try your way 1st with toothbrush.. suggesstion: for those who have the time..maybe they could sock that diffuser disc in some vinegar solution overnight and it shd be cleared. just rinse properly after that :) take care stay safe all.

Omg SUBBED you have noo idea how grateful I am.. thank you sooo much!!! I just fixed my 18 year-old Nespresso. This lady has been with me since I was single, so it was hard thinking it was her end. Must admit I haven't descaled in two years, plus I've been using non Nespresso capsules. Firstly, I got a toothbrush and cleaned the plate, didn't work. It was too complicated to disassemble a 1st gen Nespresso, so I got a toothbrush, then a toothpick and carefully cleaned the spout. I was scared that I was poking the insides wrongly, but it worked!!! The toothpick unclogged whatever was blocking the flow. I was so ready to use my Karcher steam, but I didn't need to. Cleaning the spout did the trick! I'll probably clean it more with a thin needle and perhaps a steam cleaner tomorrow. Yay, now we have coffee tomorrow morning. Bless you!!!

Hi Adrian, Thanks for your video's. I have a C-100 model Nespresso and the brew mechanism is just like you are holding in this video, I've cleaned the diffuser plate just as you discussed. However, I still have a leak from this brew chamber. Is there an "o-ring" in the C-100 brew mechanism? I removed the "silver cylinder" that holds the pods to try and see if there is in o ring behind this cylinder.....but I didn't see one? Also, is the silver cylinder that holds the pod suppose to be easy to be removed? maybe this should be "glued in place"? Thanks for any advice. Pete

I suspect this decreases the pressure inside the machine. Therefore, if you make wholes larger than default - because the metal inside is so squishy - you decrease the pressure, say from 19 bars to 14 bars, the coffee will flow easily and machine would not leake. But in that case you sacrifice high-pressure coffee to some extent. If the mesh inside is just cloged with coffee, rust, etc. then ok, perhaps you won't decreese the pressure. But enlargening the wholes with pins, that is not recommended.

  • @benassy69

    @benassy69

By doing this you are not increasing the hole size only unclogging the holes filled with hardened caffee.

  • @experiencelife3237

@@benassy69 there is very thin line between unclogging and expanding the holes because the metal area around the holes is made of very thin metal - this was a caution for those who clean. This video is anyways helpful, just a minor point for future tutorials. Cheers.

  • @bombersander

Hey thanks so much for the instructions! I took my delonghi apart yesterday and cleaned it out completely. It performs a lot better but it still leaks from the top of the cupholder, after making 2 cups of coffee in succession it pours out from under the lever. Is there maybe another seal in there or something that might be old? If you have any idea, you'd be my savior!

Hi Adrian, I've tried this fix and also cleaning the o-ring from your other video, but the machine keeps leaking from the part of the diffuser plate. I've poured a coffee with the machine half open and keeps leaking. It's only when I don't use a capsule at all that it doesn't leak.. any thoughts? thanks again for your help, your videos are great!

I wanted to ask you, if it is possible to take out and keep only the charger of the aeroccino (Citiz&Milk). I'm going to get another machine that doesn't make cold milk froth and I want to keep my aeroccino for making cold milk foam.

Hi. It is complicated to take out the fronter charger au of the stand. You will need to rework the cables and stuff. But what you can do is to search for a used aerrocinno stand on ebay and buy one. It is not that expensive and they should fit.

Hi @Adrian, I followed all these steps, grateful for this video indeed. However, no matter how I refit the disc, which is completely clean and clear (as is the mount it goes into) it still leaks. Any ideas, or is it a new machine at this point?

@@benassy69 It leaks on the front side of the waste bucket. I can not determine on which side of the cup it leaks. The "old" brewing system shows no evidence of leaking (but it leaks the same way).

Hi Adrian! First of all, thank you very much for the videos, they are great! Could you tell me if there is a specific position to replace the diffuser plate? I did the entire procedure on my Nespresso Maestria, I cleaned all the micro holes, but now the machine does not pierce the capsules in the part that touches the diffuser plate (aluminum seal). I would be very grateful if you could help!

Your best bet might be to buy another broken machine that failed for a different reason, and pirate the part from that. I've successfully done this to source a replacement pump for a coffee machine.

Hey there, love your videos, been watching a few but still haven’t found one that points me in the right direction on what the cause of my leaking machine could be. My delonghi inissia started leaking clear water from the bottom, I’ve done the descaling process and while doing it no one drop came out, only leaks when a capsule is present in the machine. Any ideas? Appreciate your help!!
