I would love to see someone make a gremlins 1 game for the nes just so we could say we have 1 and 2. It would be cool to see it done in the same style as 2 was done. For years I have felt like it was a missing game.
I love Powerblade on the NES. Definitely my favorite game on the system with Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Lol
It makes me kind of sick hearing that games I sold for $5 back in 2009 like Bonk's Adventure and Gun Nac fetch such high prices. I was moving for jobs and having hundreds of games were a huge anchor. NES games were dirt cheap for 20+ years and I thought I could always buy them back. Then what happened to make them so expensive???

I had a similar experience I had a HUGE collection including 100s of magazines and sold everything to pump the money into my x-ray tech career in 2005. I sold everything cheap because nobody wanted this old tech! I bearly made over $1,000! Flashforward to now I have tried to get most of my collection back but I have given up because of the ridiculous prices resellers are asking for them. NES games I sold for $1 mint CIB resellers want $50 for them loose and with magicmarker writing! Are they thinking? And don't get me into magazines people couldn't give them away now they want $40 for a single issue when they cost originally $5! I sold mine's for a quarter each! Anyway I got out retro collecting until the prices go back to being realistic again. If that doesn't happen I'm OUT!😭

I was very lucky that I decided to go ahead and pick up Gun Nac from a buddy at Goodwill back in 2014 for like $5 before they started doing the scummy stuff they do now with retro stuff. I almost didn't get it because I had never heard of it and knew nothing about it, but I think I may have texted a friend in my retro friend group that said go for it. This was back in a time when I had no business collecting because I couldn't afford to, but that is one of the few games I'm glad I jumped on and that is still in my collection today.
Would love to see a re-release of "Kickmaster"!
If Taito co-op’d with Jaleco, I would like to imagine a crossover of Power Blade with Shatterhand. As far as proper re-releases, can’t remember any NES games enough to think of one that should get that treatment
Bucky O’Hare would be a top candidate. Great game, no remake/remaster, not available through any official channels, and loose price is between $150-200.
G.I. Joe would be the one I would want rereleased. I think that would be a hard one to have done because of the Hasbro license.
That 50/50 voting was a nail biter all day 🤣
There's some Saturn games I wish would get rereleased. Snes and Genesis too, but idk I don't collect much anymore given the insane prices. Big box PC games are more my jam, as I can still get deals on those (got Escape from Monkey Island for 6 bucks, CIB at Goodwill!)

I would like to see Saturn games as well. The only hurdle is that Limited Run or Retrobit would have to acquire the license for the Saturn wobble or whatever it used to be recognized by the laser from Sega on top of the license from the game publisher. Sega CD, Turbo CD, Jaguar CD, and 3DO luckily don't have that issue like PS1/Saturn.
I have a complete power blade 2. It's pretty good! One of my favorites when I was a kid.

I understand these re-releases for Rare games. But limited run also did glover for the N64 and that games common as dirt. You can pick up an official N64 cart for cheaper then the reproduction was.
More japan-only games please, Kid Dracula, Splatterhouse Graffiti, Wagyan Land, Wai Wai World, Perman etc.
Gemfire, destiny of an emperor and Ghenghis khan were the first 3 games I bought and played after getting my mini nt noire. Lol. Guardian legend was next. Glad to hear them brought up. Gemfire was always the snes release for me.
I'm sure Pat would love a rerelease of his favorite game Color-a-Dinosaur, lol

I would love to see if possible more Atari Jaguar games that were exclusive to the system to be re released. Sadly some of its games such as Missile Command 3d the source code was lost when Atari were going through bankruptcy. These games are still history that needs to be properly preserved & remembered.

We got Tempest 2000 and 10 other Jaguar games being rereleased next month at least.
Regarding Taito licensing, they HAVE given their blessing to Astro City “Mini” consoles, so it’s not entirely out of the realm of possibility to see Taito then give their blessing to licensed retro rereleases of their rarer and harder to find games.
So the NES guidebook has content changed in the 3rd printing? I have first printings of both the NES and SNES guidebook... it's interesting to learn that reviews were redone for the 3rd printing of the NES guidebook. Have you considered possibly selling new copies to owners of the previous editions at a discount, or perhaps making the alterations available somehow?
That I totally agree, why not Gun Nac and Little Samson on NES re-release from limited run games or retro-bit.
glad these guys thought of so many cause I couldn't think of any since I only had common games that have already been re-released
It’s not NES but Metal Warriors that came out on the SNES I would love to see a re-release!
The only game mentioned on here that I didn't have back in the day (before I sold my collection) was Dinosaur Peak. Though I do regret buying Panic Restaurant in the first place. Sold my whole collection right before the market started to explode. Going further in I never got Little Ninja Brothers or Jetsons either.
Gun Nac, Crisis Force, Summer Carnival Recca, WAi WAi World, Twin Bee 3, Stringer, Gyruss.-

Gimmick and Uforia are both getting re-released on Switch and in physical format too!
I'd like to see Monster in my Pocket, Konami game that's not too common and it's a really fun play through that has nostalgia for the toy line.
Romance of the 3 kingdoms on SNES is a lot of fun. One of the best strategy games ever
Yes little samsom was an amazing game. I wish it was rereleased even if it was for the Nintendo online or a stand alone release.
Nightmare On Elm Street is semi-expensive. It would be tough to rerelease because of the license, but it’s a much better game than it’s reputation.

That was one of the few games that AVGN ranted on where I disagreed with him. It wasn't a great game, but I certainly liked it.
I know they doesn't look as good in the shelf, but they need to do more licensed multicart releases. Power Blade 1&2, Ducktales 1&2, Ninja Gaiden NES trilogy, etc. Crisis Force is a really good Konami shooter that never left Japan. Deserves more love.
I picked Gun Nac up on the Famicom because it was easier to find.

Still have my copy on the NES
It's cool to get a re-release of a good yet expensive game, but I'm way more likely to buy a game that gets an official release that never came out here. Though I agree we will see these late release super expensive Taito games re-released on cart. I have bought a couple that have really hard to find boxes/manuals, like Return of the Ninja for GBC. Almost no complete copies have been sold on ebay, and I've had my loose cart for like 15 years and love the game, so I really wanted a complete box and manual.
Bucky Ohare is one i would say thats pretty uncommon but good.
Man, I'll love a Guardian Legend re-release!

Well the releases would be official, and it usually does but to varying degrees. Cuz there's already unofficial ones, the idea is for the actual IP holders to rerelease. Like The Wily Wars is the most recent that comes to mind that Capcom did in Genesis, or partnered with whoever, Limited Run I think idk

@@NinjaRunningWild yeah I’d expect it to be similar to first print editions of books. High end collectors over to have the “best version” of things and if there’s an official rerelease that brings attention to something the more hardcore collectors will want the original release and be willing to pay big for it. One example that springs to mind is the 20th anniversary pokemon 2DS consoles. They didn’t reduce the price of red, blue, yellow because demand for them increased and prices went up even though the rereleases allowed people to transfer to Pokémon bank which the originals didn’t
A US version of Holy Diver would be an awesome NES title to be re released.

So when is the new Pat the NES Punk review coming out? Yes, your evil rival James Rolfe, although he releases an issue not often, but once every two months for sure, and you released only one video in 2022
Japanese games should be one of them.
Hell Yes 🤘🎃👍💯
Are yal really playing these nes games in 2022? Not trying to be a prick just curious? Outdated tech from when i was 5-9 years old and im 42 lol seriously its like walking into somebodies house and you see them watching a movie and see them get up to flip the laser disc lol 😂. punchout still fun and a hand full of others jackal i think i played some rc pro am on my modded psp go but thats only on the go. 89% of those nes classics that sold like hotcakes are sitting on shelves or in closets. Even when they were new people only played them in bursts for nostalgia. Tecmo bowl was the shit when i was a kid even with the updated rosters it still boring as shit compared to madden. Why are we doing this other than in bursts. If you play nes games in 2022 for hours on end i’d sure like to know why and why you enjoy that. Ps i collect laser disc so explains that joke .
they should all be rereleased
re-releases are the dumbest fanboy idea in the world when you can have one cart that has every single game for that console on it. This is why we have tons of extra plastics that go to an early grave. Multi-carts are good for this reason, allows you to still use OG hardware while not needlessly adding more e-waste. The days of core gamers spazzing over some OCD they have about boxes on a shelf needs to take a backseat to humanity's needs for once.
@phxsisko
Жыл бұрын
@@bmwolgas - wut? you can workout copyright licenses with their respective owners still on multi-carts releases so what is your point?
@phxsisko
Жыл бұрын
@@bmwolgas - That's for lawyer's to figure out. Also, if the government had regulations forcing these sort of multi-carts over single cart releases, the argument would be moot. There's no reason to release hundreds of plastic game carts when one cart can do the exact same thing and more efficiently at every turn. You do realize, even without regulations forcing this, the SNES/NES and all those mini consoles were collaborations with various IPs/companies. It's already happening, but if it were the law, when possible, multi-carts would be the only legal NEW carts for old game releases. This way, it mostly maintains the originals value for those that still care and yet still makes the game much cheaper and available for those who can't afford an OG copy and want to play on OG hardware. These are the sort of approaches that need to happen across all industries, not just gaming.
@Raven34643
Жыл бұрын
You can't possibly think it's realistic for someone to obtain the rights for every NES game to put on a single cart. Nintendo wouldn't even do that for their own first party software. As for your "take a backseat to humanity's needs" argument, than why own anything physical? Neca action figures sit on a shelf too. Books can be read digitally. Can we not enjoy those things? I am all for decarbonizing economies but your argument against releasing old games to save plastic sounds like you are trying to justify piracy. Even if that is not your intention, not re-releasing old video games for the sake of saving plastic is sort of like deleting Word files from your computer to save hard drive space.
@phxsisko
Жыл бұрын
@@Raven34643 - You fan bois really are poorly educated. Yes, licenses like this do happen, again, look at ALL the mini consoles that were recently released. For the last time, if the government forced it, it would work and save on plastics and yes, maybe limiting how many dumbass plastic pop culture figurines a company is allowed to pump out each year is also a good idea. Dumping one million ultimate warriors in a landfill does fuck all for society on multiple fronts. Same applies to cell phone manufacturers and anyone else making a product to be mass produced. We don't need 20 models from 100 companies. Also, your word doc example is dumb, we are talking about an action that would affect millions of ppl and products. You are comparing en mass government regulations to essentially one person taking out the garbage. Try again.
@Raven34643
Жыл бұрын
@@phxsisko Mini-consoles are generally composed of several dozen games, not several hundred. The rights to many of those old games are in limbo, which doesn't help as well. Also, the government will never force companies to use their intellectual property in the way you are proposing; it's asinine. I recommend the book "The New Climate War" if you want more realistic ideas on how to decarbonize economies. It doesn't involve going after industries with comparatively low carbon footprints, such as retro video game collecting. This is where my Word example is applicable.
