When the music transitioned to the final boss track, I was oh shit, I gotta stay alive. Still gets my hair standing up every time I hear the theme. It was one of them oh shit its about to hit the fan moments for me

This entire soundtrack is not only incredible music but it stirs so many memories in me I just can't love it enough.

How come no one is talking about the end credits theme at 19:48 ! That theme is such an awesome piece for the game ending. Billy's dead girlfriend comes to life, followed by this theme..... Magic !!❤️❤️ I also like to read the credit names. Kudos to the team for creating this gem !

Starting at 19:09, two of the the rare video game tracks that actually feel a bit cinematic… a more mature musicality to them.

Double Dragon and Double Dragon 2 were fantastic with their theme music and the music for each stage. They were the sort of games you would take the time to use the "sound tests" to go in and listen to all the music. Absolutely excellent.

Man, 10:28 Forest of death, it's not only such an iconic DD track. Yeah, it's slow paced and kind of relaxed, but it also has this dark nostalgic feeling, like you're really getting yourself into foreign territory from now on. Awesome. This is also the stage where the fights get tougher, gotta love the cabin part.

I remember those books how to win at Nintendo Games and it literally told you how defeat every enemy every boss A step by step book that told you what was coming before you see it. That how I was able to defeat Supreme Master. I was 11 when I got the book. That was back in 91

I played this game so much as a kid that I could beat it, on the hardest difficulty, without ever dying even once. Absolute insanity! One of my favorite games and soundtracks of all time.

The soundtrack, simply titled Double Dragon II: The Revenge, was published in Japan by Meldac and released on March 10, 1990. The soundtrack features arranged versions of the music from the NES version (originally composed by Kazunaka Yamane) composed by Kazuhiro Hara and Nobuhito Tanahashi. The soundtrack also features a vocal J-pop rendition of the Double Dragon opening theme performed by Manami Morozumi titled "Dead or Alive". Its catalog number is MECG-28001. An excerpt from the arcade soundtrack was included on the Sinclair User cover tape.

I used to play this game a lot during my childhood. I always used the super-knee jump attack from the very beginning till the end to make enemies go flying across the screen. Those were the days.

My top 3 favorites: 3. Final Boss 17:10 2. Undersea Base 9:24 1. At the Heliport 6:40 Edit: And obviously the Title Theme is LEGENDARY 00:01

The PC Engine of this game is amazing. The music, the anime cut scenes, everything. But I grew up playing this so it will always be my favorite

I used to sit with the title screen and just listen to it loop over and over

I remember as a kid, me and my friends listening to the breathing (that IS breathing, right? lol) in Mansion of Terror and going absolutely nuts about it. We thought it was the coolest thing we'd ever heard in a video game. We were right.

I spent my whole childhood playing this game with my twin brother in coop mode. Everytime we got to reach the end of the game together we felt invincible. "Double Dragon" Is the perfect phrase to describe our bond 😁🐉

The best game in nes ❤️ I don't remember how many times i finished this game. Stage 2 & the final boss tracks are absolutely amazing ❤️

This ninja gaiden and battletoads are the hardest games on nes. I own a new mini from 2016 and I own rare replay on series s. Man I love retro games. I wasn’t even born in the 80s or 90s.

First played this when I was 6, Mission 6: was like a guaranteed game over for me. I didn't get to defeat the final boss until I played a modded version that had 3 Continues, when I was 10, by that point it was already 1995.

I can hear the thwaps and smacks of kicks and punches with sounds of sonic knees and tornado kicks mixed in.

I think overall DD2 was a better and more polished game, but I have a huge soft spot for DD3 as well. Having the two new characters (Chin and Ranzou) to play with added a lot of variety, and I think that DD3 just had better atmosphere than the 2nd game (the music and gloomy sunset of Stage 1-2 after you exit your dojo is simply astounding). Story-wise and weapon/move variety-wise though, DD2 is still tops, I agree. I'm not even gonna talk about SDD. It was SUCH a disappointment. :P

The final boss music is unlocking several memories, this was the first game I ever completed by myself. That music was such a clarion call, and at that point after playing it through 3 times had the jumping knee attack working 80% of the time, which made it all the easier... And yet what a sense of achievement!

Idk why but shadow double boss soundtrack has a deep impact on me.
