Neryungri has a spacious feel to it, but was very cold, so we were grateful for the churches, museum and local administrative building where we could take refuge and warm up.

We really enjoyed our visit, although it was too short and we didn't get to see everything we wanted to visit. So shall have to return some day, maybe in the summer next time. Need to travel to Ecuador as well))
They are so well trained🤣😂
I love the iconography of Eastern Orthodox churches.

I really should try to learn more about the various schools of icon painting to get a deeper appreciation for them, but even on my level of understanding, iconostases like this relatively modern one are just mind-blowing...

Hope that you enjoyed the video. We only had a few days, and were unable to see the open pit, so would like to return some day.
