Nero shallots are a new introduction to my gardens during the 2024 season.
Genetically speaking, shallots and potato onions are indistinguishable. Also, in some countries, the words shallots and potato onions are interchangeable. Based on that, I wanted to try shallots.
Shallots are smaller, more mild with an elegant complex flavor, and store poorly compared to yellow potato onions.
