If you talk to Adam in person, and say that you are a christian, he would not have a problem. Yes, he personally is against religion, but is decent enough to keep it to himself. This was obviously for shock value. Kind of like KISS doesn't walk around wearing makeup all day.

Especially considering on The Voice he was only chosen based entirely on his artistic merit as a professional Polish recording artist and wasn't and didn't express any of his ideologies or philosophies while on the show but the station still nullified his contract because of the radical ideals and pressure from the Polish clergy/Government.

I like how Nergal actually makes an intelligent speech about why he doesn't like the bible or christianity, instead of just burning it to look evil like everyone else does.

I really don't understand how you or the Polish Government think it's acceptable to persecute a single man's beliefs in a room full of people who consented to being there to see him perform his art which is known for being extreme but never in a hurtful sense. Like seriously, how does what Adam Darksi/Nergal do or say during his performance affect you or Christianity/Catholicism or your spirituality? These are all people who either reject faith in the first place or understand it's art.

America is the only country in the world with the 1st ammendment. Theres no freedom of speech in poland. Comedians are being locked up and fined for telling risqué jokes on social media in france and other european countries. You think Poland, a country with an overwhelming catholic/christian history, is gonna let Nergal get away with this when he has no God given right to free speech or expression according to their government? The answer is no. Tear it up in America if you choose but other countries will not be so kind.

Okay, I am a devout Christian. I personally hate this shit, but he has the right to do it. His actions are between him and God. Putting religious differences completely aside, Adam "Nergal" Darski (based solely on his style and talent), is one of my very favorite musicians of all-time. I won't purchase Behemoth music or merch for religious reasons, but I have seen enough of Mr. Darski to know that I could sit down for 4 or 5 hours with him and have a damn enjoyable time. He is very down-to-earth and seems to just love life. If you don't throw your beliefs in his face or criticize him for his, you can talk about damn near anything. I am willing to bet that he would be willing to have a philosophical debate on your differing views.

@GuitarType01 well it sounded like that. and yes music is powerful indeed, but a strong individual (strong is very relative) should be able to choose the music himself, not let the music choose him if you know what I mean. I listen to several kinds of music but such as Behemoth has gotten me through the hardest times of my life and for that I will never abandon them.

While i admire Nergal's charism and presence, and can't disagree with all of what he's saying, this type of speech is what marginalize us metalheads and leads people to think we're a bunch of dangerous and violent hooligans.

wrong. i was a serious biblebanger. not a casual christian. i did everything a serious christian would do: asked god into my heart, prayed regularily, read the bible, went to church, tried not to sin, was interested in having a personal relationship with god, etc. there is no presence. the mind is a powerful thing and youre fooling yourself into believing that. and i witnessed no "power" working in my life. thats ok though, real men dont need fairytales to cope with the world.
