Really cool that they bothered to make it still have a "play" function outside of firing darts with the "dry fire sound when ammo counter hits zero" thing for when you just wanna goof off with it or show it off to friends/family.

It's also awesome that it'll shoot from 95 to zero! Fire your 10 darts then dryfire 80-85 more, depending on whether the counter was keeping up with actual darts fired!

I got one. It actually arrived a few weeks ago. You really hit the nail on the head with this video. The complaints are all ones I agree with, and the benefits and use cases are all ones I agree with also. I haven't opened mine yet, but at some point I want to upgrade the flywheels and cage, as well as perhaps the pusher motor. I want to make this thing into an absolute beast, and I'm excited to do so.

Im with you. Ive been waiting for the better modders to put out a video so i can throw the krakens i got laying around in it. Its killing me to not replace that spring.

This is what LMTD should be. Super cool for Nerf fans, super cool for Alien fans, and functional (kind of) gimmicks that are fun.

This blaster is so cool. Hasbro could of have made the grande launcher use mega xl. Which would be canonically accurate (30mm) But it’d have to be a hamp so MEGA is acceptable. Additionally the ammo counter on the side, is because it’s a movie prop so the audience can see how many shots Ripley has left.

@@geraltofrivia323 No, it's a 30mm grenade launcher. Everyone assumes it's a shotgun because it's pump action and it's got the heat shield, but if you watch the movie it's a grenade launcher. And besides, I'm willing to bet that 30mm buckshot exists in universe. Given that 40mm buckshot exists in this one.

Mega xl would be canonically accurate but would make blaster not screen accurate as an Remington 870 12 gauge (Which is sightly smaller than a.75 Mega dart.) firing snap caps was used as the underbarrel grenade launcher in the flims.

@@corinthianimperialstudios704 it's supposed to be a 30mm grenade in universe but it's a modified SPAS12 shotgun in real life. The actual specs of the pulse rifle as given in the movie are physically impossible given the firing prop is based on a M1 Thompson machine gun and SPAS12 shotgun.

I got one. I'm a huge fan of Aliens and this definitely satisfied the collector in me. The performance is lacking, but easily fixed if I cared to make it high performance. Mine wasn't primed in the box but I got very similar performance. I think it has a weak system by design. Great vid Walcom!

Glad this blaster came out decent after the Mando blaster!

I had no real interest in ordering one of these, but it's definitely cool and I'm sure even people who aren't into the movies would be happy once having it in hand. The Motoblitz, Demolisher, and Tri Strike/Mediator parts are super cool too. I hope Hasbro continues putting out dual ammo stuff in the future.

Now the last thing that we need to complete the "badass space rifles" trio we need a nerf doom plasma rifle

@@WalcomS7 I'd pay $200 for it if it were GOOD, Hasbro. Give me a rechargeable battery, build it off the Nemesis/Prometheus platform with maybe 100 round capacity, throw some blue lights all over and the iconic plasma rifle sounds, and my wallet is ready.

Tbh, this blaster looks awesome, and the color scheme really fits the blaster well. I wanna get this one day. The ammo counter might be useless, but it looks really awesome for cosplay.

I'm a huge Alien fan, and the M41A is my favorite scifi weapon of all time. I got around my magazine issue by opening up the yellow plastic shell, cutting just a bit of the inside, and putting it back together. that way I don't have to worry about being handed a magazine that isn't modified by a squad mate. I can't wait to boost it's FPS a little. I added a little paint weathering, iron sights, and a rail on the side for a flashlight. I think it's a great blaster, woulda been fantastic about $20 cheaper, but for the build I was planning to make an M41A, this was waaay cheaper.

Purchased it, stripped it down, repainted it olive drab and black with some weathering and now it lives on my fandom shelf.

Wake me when Hasbro makes a Halo MA5B with the same ammo counter functionality. I'd snap that up in a heartbeat. (Well, not really because my heart would probably stop when I saw it for sale lol)

Yeah I'm surprised that's still not a thing.

This blaster was so much more than I hoped for. The fun factor for fans of Aliens is an 11. I received mine at least 5 weeks ago, I don't know how We got them first in Australia. The only real disappointment was the lack of power in the grenade launcher. I do agree with your critique of the nerf pulse rifle. I was so interested in it I pre-ordered two, one to mod and one as a display.

I was super jealous seeing Australians get theirs back in July and August and mine didn't show up until 2 weeks ago. I didn't even get a notice it was shipping, just noticed my account was $100 lighter one day. 4 days later it showed up.

I'm happy with mine. Its pretty fun for a stock blaster. Its definitely going to be a good contender for HVZ in my book. I've already started modding some of my magazines for it. Its not perfect, but its very fun.

I imagine the M41-A is not compatible with other Nerf magazines by design rather than oversight. It's a licensed product, designed to replicate a prop so both the license holder and the purchaser are going to want the ammo counter, mag release etc to look and function the same as the prop, regardless of usability or compatibility with existing Nerf products.

Seeing how good this one is I can’t wait to get my Nerf Gjallarhorn

Alien is the iconic spooky one. Aliens is the iconic action packed one. Both are great.

The toy i wish I had as a kid after watching the movie in the 80's

I got mine today! I picked it up as a fan of the movies. Being that I'm not into performance or operation beyond what comes as stock, I really can't complain about that end of it. But EVERYTHING else is (for me anyways) Perfect! Initially I was planning on repainting it to be more screen accurate, now I'm on the fence. The attention to detail with the full look and counter and sound chip, it's hard as a movie fan to complain about a M41A Nerf rifle

I boought one of these mainly just for the cool factor but if there is some aftermarket support for it I'd be so excited to put new internals in and get that RoF up. Potentially a chunky bass speaker and a soundboard for some more accurate sound effects and see how big a spring the underbarrel pump action can take. I think with a bit of work it could be a beast.

I pre-ordered it immediately because I love aliens. So far I like mine a lot. Mine wasn't primed out of the box but I still get about the same performance on the underbarrel. Biggest annoyance is the mag thing so now I gotta mod all my mags. Hopefully I can pop a new spring in the underbarrel and get some better performance. Once that's done and I mod my mags this thing will be great to run

I got mine last Saturday and I really like it. I would have liked movie accurate sound effects though, but overall it’s worth the price. Hopefully somebody will create a better sound card for it. I’m complete opposite of you, I’m a huge fan of Aliens, and just a casual fan with nerf. My only concern, as this will be part of a cosplay, is that I’m hoping I’m able to buy more magazines for it. Not modified ones, but the specially designed one that came with it. Maybe somebody can 3d print them? Great review btw!

I preordered two of these and got mine a few weeks back. Of course I bought one to open and one to keep in box cause that’s the kind of collector’s I am. I absolutely love the aesthetic of this blaster!! Was a-bit bummed out that I have to modify a few of my drums to make this compatible, but hey when in Rome!! I have no buyer’s remorse…. I got mine a couple months ago, they released in Australia then and have been available to buy at EB Games without pre order for a while now. I have upgraded and painted mine. The mega is actually a really easy upgrade and gets 90 fps now instead of 40fps. I also made an adjustable stock. I put a Fortnite BA R cage in mine and the turbine cage fits as well, revamp motors and 2S lipo. It's really fun once upgraded.

Got this gun back in October, not a professional Nerfer and I while I don’t have them often, I wouldn’t use it in a nerf war. However, as a huge fan of the Alien movies, more specifically James Cameron’s Aliens, I do absolutely love the blaster and it is a must have for any fan. If it came with an extra magazine or could hold another magazine that wasn’t the one that came with it, I would probably use it. I was so so so satisfied with this blaster!

I love everything about mine to be honest, I would LOVE to see upgrade instructions/opening the shell without damaging it etc, and as for the stock, it would be great for it to extend.. but I cant see how without making the battery tray REALLY complex/moving it etc.

I received mine about 2 weeks ago. As an Aliens fan, I am content. I would be more in love with this blaster if it came with a 2nd mag at least. Also the grenade launcher should have been a 3 round internal mag, and that groove where the carry handle is should be Mega dart storage.

personally i dont like the look much of this blaster but it is cool in the way it functions.

This blaster is great i'm loving mine. It will satisfy pretty much anyone who buys it, it has all the features you'd want in a "Nerf Pulse Rifle" and its really fun to use and full sized. The grip is super comfortable and the rev trigger is perfectly shaped/angled. And the prime on the Mega launcher is super smooth. The packaging is also cool and actually functional. Collector's will love it, and modders can easily improve it. This was the 1 LMTD blaster I actually cared about and i'm super glad it turned out good after the Mandalorian blaster was garbage. Aliens is my favorite movie ever and I still can't believe they actually made an officially licensed Nerf Pulse Rifle replica blaster. Walcom I hope you do a follow-up mod video on this! Maybe with Lucha?

Mine arrived last week and I love it. I am actually debating painting it to make a proper cosplay prop out of it since it pretty well matches the dimensions of the one I handled years ago.

Out of curiosity, did you actually make a M41A prop before then? How did you do it - did you DIY it with other nerf and/or airsoft guns?

I like to keep this handy for close encounters

I preordered and received this blaster, i love the overall look and sounds of it but was upset about the magazine situation, looking in the mag well there are 2 little prongs that serve no purpose, so removing those and sanding down the front of magazine stops sucks but is very easy to fit 18s with ease. Hope this helps someone if they need it

Long have I waited for this review. I got mine pre ordered it from Amazon, I love the the damn thing. Nit picks are the stock and the mag, but other than that as you said its fun. Plus I am in extreme debate weather or not I want to sand and paint it like the film replica. I might as well get the air soft version if I want to do that.

It coming primed from the factory won't affect the spring in any noticable way. Springs lose power from repeated cycles of compression and decompression, not from being under load for long periods of time.

I pre ordered mine a year ago as soon as it came out and I was so excited to see it! I am a huge aliens fan. I too am disappointed in the lack of adjustable stock and the magazine. But I got it for the emotional response and it’s so awesome! I hope they release i cheaper version because I want to paint that one and keep my limited as a collectors piece

I said since DAY 1 of getting into his hobby when my friend was showing me his collection "If there is one NERF blaster I would want to have, it would be an M41A pulse rifle." My friend said custom ones using a rapid strike had been made using a custom case. A couple of months later this was announced and I ordered it before even reading the features. I've wanted a replica of one of these for most of my life. And I'm VERY happy with it! Love the detail of the darts, especially the mega ones that mimic the micro grenades from the movie, although a bit bigger. I think we all knew style and feel was going to heavily outweigh the performance and I'm totally fine with that. Won't care when I take this to a NERF war and let this baby go full auto, yelling "Lets rock!"

I missed the original pulse run but got lucky enough to buy it for the same price off GameStop, same issues as you (though I've also had a lot of feeding issues using AF waffle heads) modding the mags thankfully isn't that difficult and is absolutely worth it. Now I'm just waiting for someone to make a drum mod for it XD

I'm a huge Aliens fan, saw the first one in theaters! Scared the hell outta me! lol You look back on that movie now and its not so bad, special effects still hold up though! Great video!

Mine was primed too. But this is still a fun collector blaster. It performs exactly how I knew it would 🥱 but I knew it would look cool. Wasn’t in my plans to use it in a battle. I have the blasters for that. My biggest complaint is that the mega blaster key was primed when I got it and the proprietary magazine. Yard battles with kids, maybe, I have my stock rapidstrike for that. This one is limited, out of stock and as a fan of the aliens series. Just fun. 🤘

I really like it as an aliens fan but it only fits the included magazine. I'll let the fps slide on this blaster, it's fun to play around with.

decent and very flashy blaster, quite enjoyable too.

I got one and very impressed with it. The batteries run down fast though! Batteries don't come cheap especially if they are C ones! Still a great piece!

I got one to use as a raffle prize at a foam dart blaster shootout at a anime/cosplay con next June. I am impressed with the design and would make a great display piece.

ive seen the movies, but im not a big aliens fan, but i still bought one of these and i love it. its so cool, and the underbarrel mega launcher is something that is sadly not a common thing to see on stock blasters. super cool blaster, loads of fun, a little pricey for what it is, but totally worth the money in my opinion.

I bought some 12 round mags and modified them. Doesn't take too much to do. However it seems to jam consistently when you load all 12 rounds. Load 11 and it works just fine.

Got mine a few months back and I love it!! I bought it mainly for cosplay reasons but I have fired it a crapload of times and its good.

If Hasbro can make high-quality blasters like these for $100 than you think they should be able to make blasters with the same quality for their consumers

I got mine a month ago and I love it as I am a big Aliens fan so it was a no brainer for me. :)

I haven't been able to successfully modify any mags to fit yet. I hope someone 3d prints more, slightly better mags for it, something that doesn't have the top bevel on it and sits flush with the shell. Maybe even fit 12 darts in it lol. The only other major gripe I have with it is the ammo counter doesn't actually count ammo. Had a few instances where it hit 0 but had 3 darts left in the mag. Pretty happy with the rof though, considering it's small carry amount.

I have a very short list of movie weapons I totally NEED as foam flingers, and this was at the top of it. I bought 4 and am considering going up to 6 if they come back in stock.

I love the Alien franchise and Nerf, so.. I had pre-ordered 2 of them. Haven't got mine yet, but after watching video and yes I was aware it would have mediocre performance before I purchased, I didn't care. Its an official M41A I can play around with an occasionally shoot darts at stuff. It looks cool, sounds are awesome and the power loader paint is neat touch. I figured it would probably be a collector item, so thats why I bought 2, so one is getting put up. Overall even without it in my hands, I think its worth the money for the simple fact of what it is, the mag issue is more of a complaint to me than the performance.

Both Alien and Aliens are both equally awesome to me. One of my fav movies.

Love the blaster just wish it didn't have proprietary mags also the jam door doesn't have a safety cut off. Hope i see a few how to mod tutorials or internals videos it'll give me ideas for my custom build.

My grenade launcher wasn't primed in the box, can confirm the spring is just weak. That's almost more perplexing to me than the mag well. That said, I do love this thing. HUGE fan of the movie Aliens, it feels good in the hands and I really like the power loader color scheme. So overall, I'm satisfied with my purchase. That said....the price was too steep. For 60-70 I'd have been happy and not merely satisfied with my purchase but for 100 this thing should have had and adjustable stock, full mag compatibility, double the darts and a better spring for the grenade launcher, Big Shock level minimum.

I am an avid ALIENS (all the films) and I was one of those s I have to have this type fan boy. I love it, minus everything you literally pointed out (great minds think alike lol). I'm torn bc I want to mod it, but I'm like could this be a collectable. And thank goodness that Nerf fired the person with the gold Sharpie weathering position.

Okay so admittedly I'm a huge Alien franchise fan, so I'm probably biased as hell... But when mine arrived it reduced me to a manic goblin on a sugar high for a good hour. Lol. I agree with most of your criticisms... And hope they do release a cheaper one down the line like they did with the Mando blaster, because I will definitely be ordering at least one more to mod. But it's accurate enough (they've tweaked the proportions to get the massive NERF mag in). Its range/accuracy is okay as a plinker round the house (and I've been successfully shooting flies, so insert "bug hunt" joke here). It feels phenomenal in the hand. And the GL is fun enough if disappointingly underpowered. It absolutely became my favourite blaster immediately. Move aside Halo AR, Rapidstrike and elderly modified Rayven. Lol. 9.999/10 Desperately want more mags though. :( I demand a line of Hasbro accessories including a motion tracker, more mags, an incinerator as a super soaker and more. Lol.

It's not just you, my mega dart launcher is weak AF too. Definitely needs a performance upgrade. Also, you noted (with a caption) in your video that your ammo counter will default back to 10 after you've let the lights go out. Mine will keep whatever preset I put it to. I came home from work the past couple days and when I pick it back up it's still on 95. So, that claim in your vid made me curious.

Bought it love it, Really excited that it was both a fly wheeler and a mega dart launcher in one package, but it's inability to accept the othe magazines I already own means that it will spend most of it's life with me in the box.

Buzz Bee Agitator(dark blue and black and gray) stock. Easy to remove,, looks damn near the same. Depends on whats under the battery tray.

I have one of the airsoft replicas ( for display ), Hasbro did a pretty decent job with this Nerf replica though some of the dimensions/proportions are a little funky- paints up nicely however as I've seen on Reddit recently. Some nice chap has already 3D modeled the magazine base-plate for use with standard 10/12 round mags- shame it can't use them without modifying them but hey-ho.

i got mine a few months ago and though i dont do nerf stuff anymore. I am a big fan of aliens so having this, the closest thing to a real one i can get in my country is amazing. It is also really fun to shoot. the only complaints i have are the colour (though if i was that upset i would just paint it) and that the sound effects are wrong (seriously youtube the m41a from the movie to hear what it should sound like if you are not going to watch the movie).

Ive been huge fan of ALIENS and wanted an M41A for years but most models were hard to find , expensive, or really flimsy. I got one of these and Im now regretting i didnt get one to keep as is and another to repaint.

In reference to the need to modify other mags to work in this blaster, someone said on some post or forum thread long ago “Hasbro is great at somehow making things exactly, perfectly worse.”

I bought it as a Huge Alien fan and so far my only complaint is the paint job, like I know why they did what they did but if it gonna be a collectable then why not have a movie accurate paint job. If I ever get my hands on another one I'll probably repaint the second one if I'm lucky enough to get a second

I love it, I want a second one to mod but its sold out.

While inaccurate, I prefer regular mega darts simply because of emotional response. AccuMegas don't whistle.

That mag compatibility issue is a big let down but I’m glad to see that from most other points it’s a good blaster. I hope people who get it have fun with it

Hey Walcom my m41a which I got today was also primed in the box which im not mad about and I was expecting bad performance from the under barrel grenade launcher because I dont think you could put a better spring simply because of how small the area is for the grenade launcher.
