I wish that they came out with a slightly larger Trident that did all 5 tests instead of having to find room for TWO tridents...
@SinCityCorals

But then their old product would be obsolete. Now you need to buy 2 tridents haha

I will be fine with the second trident but it will come down to price. It’s doing less than than the trident 1 should be half price. If it’s even close to the original trident I’ll dump them all together and get the Hydros Maven.

Maybe they will but I feel they did us current trident owners right by not making ours obsolete

@@jonathangoganuses 3 reagents so it needs the same hardware. They’ve already said the cost is going to be the same or close

@@raisethereef Thank you so much. I appreciate your response. I've been searching for pricing. Little disappointed at the price point. The Hydros Maven is pre-pricing at $1600 CAD, (Little less than 2 Tridents) The Maven is 1 unit and does all five tests, it also doesn't require an additional controller. Not sure why neptune thinks this is competitive other than people like me who have a complete and extensive apex eco system. I get it but i am a little disappointed in neptune. I'm starting another tank and will use the Hydros with this one and see how it goes. Apprecaite the response :-)
My DOS 2.0 arrive Monday. Nothing has solved my own problems,, like this DOS 2.0 being quiet. If this is reliable like the last, it’ll be the new gold standard for me. Continuous and quiet is exactly what I needed. Got 2 in the mail,, but I’m gonna keep with my Hannah NP for now.
Great Update!
Interested to see how well it performs and, of course, the cost of 60 days worth of reagents. I understand if they insist on once a day testing, this ensures the reagent is used up by the time they run out. This will avoid the user complaining that he has 3/4 of the reagent left after 60 days and it’s no longer accurate.
To me it will be key if it is possible to test every other day, which I believe it is more than enough to have a pulse on your nutrient levels and would double the life of the reagents

All depends on how long the reagent shelf life is.. you can stretch out the normal trident but i do find the ca/mag tends to be a bit off when you push it to far.

@@ReefDudes I actually believe that shelf life has little to do with it. You will notice that most normal test kits reagent expiry date is usually years, and that testers that have rinsing ability (with RO) do not have these issues. I believe it is more to do with the reagents drying out in the lines (due to lack of rinsing) rather than shelf life

@@vascojardim6703 thats 100% part of it if you want to long. They are pretty tiny hoses. so it would be a mix, test kits are fully sealed. These containers are not.. otherwise it would create a vacuum over time, so air has to flow in as reagent flows out.. so the air mixture would have some reactor over time.. so a blend of the two :)

@@ReefDudes In the end, if they make it possible to test PO4 one day and NO3 the other, effectively converting the 6mo kit a a 12mo one, I would be sold. Bear in mind that the Kamoer Reef SPA uses exactly the same reagent principles (and the upcomming Mastertronic Essentials as well), and claimed reagent shelf life 12mo (on the Kamoer at least).
Seems as if Neptune is getting very greedy. They have company’s taking the top spot with ease.

They're making it easy for Hydros to take the lead it seems lol
Devin, have you used the plank auto feeder from Avast? I would think you could adjust the seconds you feed based on NP results.
@ReefDudes

I have not. But if you can control it via apex then you could have it adjust feedings
Sorry if i missed it but does the trident np test for ULN? I am interested in seeing if my phosphate is at .01 - 2.0
When’s the U.K. release for the dos please ? Is it same time soon as the USA or maybe a soonish week later or a month later or two, three, four month please?
Will the quiet DOS heads fit the existing DOS or will we need to buy the new version?
@raisethereef

It’s not the head. It’s how they drive the motors and I suspect it’s a new motor as well even though that wasn’t mentioned
I have an A2 with EB8 energy bar. It doesn't have a one link port, so if I get the new DOS I need to separately purchase a 24v power supply?
@ReefDudes

I believe you can purchase a power supply seperately and use the aquabus cable as well

@@jjmccloud I will say, I am not impressed with the automated dosing with the trident when paired with the dos. It’s not as accurate as they say it it. It does give a good rough ballpark however.

Why isn't Paul at RAP talking about it ?😢
I would so much rather have it read in ppb for phosphates and not ppm. At least give us the choice how we want it reported
