These days, more than Tibetans in exile, foreigners can speak our language very fluently. This is a good example to know how important Tibetan language is. And to you all, thank you so much! Appreciated!

@@taragurung933 madam and Tibet's Wanderer, Tibetan language has a wide swathe...from Gilgit Baltistan in POK...( where Gilgiti is a mixed language with Tibetan) to Ladakh ( a dialect adaptation of Tibetan) to parts of HP ( Lahaul-Spiti)...parts of Nepal ( Dolpo-Rolpo...Jomsom) to Sikkim ( Bhutia or Drenjonke), Bhutan ( Dzongkha) right uptil Arunachal Pradesh ( Takpa or Dakpa). So Tibetan is NOT a "foreign" language in India. In fact, the association of Indian and Tibetan is probably 5000 years old or more. The Tibetan scripts are adaptation fr Indian Sanskrit ( Devanagri)

Is she not from Nepal?? I only came across this video now so, not really sure. It must be nice to speak Tibetan, I wish I could also speak it as well. In fact, my Mom-Dad can understand and speak Tibetan, actually more like they speak our Lama language, which is 80% similar to Tibetan. Although I was born in Delhi, I learned Nepalese through "Channel Nepal". Back in the days in Delhi (2003?) it was the latest craze to have "Channel Nepal" in cable TV, so every Saturday I used to watch Nepalese movies, which is how I learned Nepalese. Because nobody speaks Nepalese in our home (only Tamang and Lama) I managed to learn Tamang, but unfortunately, I couldn't learn Lama language, which would have made it very easy for me to understand Tibetan too. Do you also by any chance speak Lama/Tibetan language ?? Tashi Delek 🙏🙏🙏

Yeah that's true, like my Mom/Dad are Nepalese, but came to Delhi when 16-17 years old to work and send money back home. Unfortunately, I never even knew that we celebrate Lohsar, since back then until 2005, we had very small Tamang/Lama community, so there was no concept of celebrating and getting together to celebrate Lohsar. It's only, when I came to London as a 14 year old kid that I realized that we have our own distinct and proud culture, albeit very similar to Tibetans (language and dress) No wonder when as a kid, when we went to "Taato Paani" my dad was speaking to them Tibetans and I was like how come dad knows Tibetan. It's only few years ago I realized when my dad told us our great-great grandfather came from Tibet to Nepal. Hence, our Lama language has 80% similarity to Tibetan language and of course Tibetan Buddhism.
