I'm not sure how this qualifies as a scam! If he had charged you something ridiculous, perhaps there's an argument for it. But bargaining is a part of life here - even locals end up paying different prices after bargaining. If you want fixed prices, go to a department store, because by your definition, almost all sellers in Nepal are scammers - and it's unfortunate when clueless tourists spread this false narrative for views. Welcome to Nepal and hope you have a great time here, but please also make an effort to understand local norms before throwing harmful labels.

Coincidentally,the juice seller was the same person who arrived in Dale Philip video.He paid Rs.250 for this same juice but this african dude seems too much budget friendly.He won't support any people and I am very skeptical towards his behaviour to the girls.He may promote tourism but he doesn't seem to be a good guy.

Actually there are different characteristics of people .... Whenever people see foreigner they tries to increase their rate ...Actually Indian types of seller increases their rate than most nepalese seller do .... by the way sometimes even foreigner may think the normal price as a bit expensive some may think abit cheaper... its a part of their view as well as depends the budget they have , so dear commenters you cant say this african guy a bad ...he is very fun and eager to know about things, goods, places as well as people of our country.... And yeah a small advice to this african guy as well ... you cannot higlight being scam cuz it can effect the whole Nepal when it is not like that as you think, as well as you cannot have the conversation with girls about their matter beside that you can greet, ask about the places , streets and information that you are not sure about . may be you wanna be friendly but not in that way my brother as( you said to one girl could you take me to your home ) , its nt good rest I like your friendly conversation and eagerness to know about where you go ... best wishes and yeah welcome to Nepal ❤❤❤❤

Hey its not your fault that you grew up in a family with racist agenda but spreading it is not okay. There is local and tourist price but it doesn't make it OK. Different fruit cost Different price no doubt. He never clarified that he would put another fruit. It make sense to do that since mango don't product much juice like the other but not informing the product properly before hand is also not right. I know you can except professionalism on nepali business but in his mind he knows 3rd world country first hand and knows they don't tend to be honest since there isn't a government to punish them strictly.
