If you don't find it that funny, that alone isn't grounds for criticism. if you were criticizing it for not having an option to skip all dialogue, that'd be more reasonable. But, frankly, any self-serious story you try to write in the context of this game is unlikely to be good, so it may as well be something fun the devs wanted to write. Personally, I much prefer this to some bland self-serious story I'm not invested in one bit. Too many games waste my time with tropey poorly developed stories that do nothing to serve the gameplay.

@@8Kazuja8Things like humor and music tastes are especially subjective. I wouldn't make that argument in just any context. (the crux of your argument is also an assumption that the writing is simply bad, which is one of the most subjective arguments anyone can possibly make) Also, parody doesn't operate on punchlines. The whole point of parody is exaggerating aspects of the original to comedic effect. Saying "it's just as bad as the original" just indicates a lack of appreciation for the ironic nature of a given parody, or parody in general.

"you are like my sasuke" that line took a few years off my life expectancy for sure. Seems like they are filtering some players out with the dialogue, but also attracting others with it. Interesting game design choice

The dialogue is the funniest shit in the game. Sometimes I would get tired of gameplay, but keep going just to get some more interactions. I can't see it as anything but intentional. Just as you laugh when meeting edgelords and non-ironic weebs online you do the same in Neon White, it's great.

There's just no way that the dialogue isn't 100% intentional and self-aware of how cringe it is. If you look at it from that self-aware angle it becomes like comedy on a meta-level.

Bah, it's filler. The devs just needed to pad it for the people who can't play without story. There's a skip button always available so I think they knew that most people wouldn't want capcom-tier dialogue.

This game is great cuz it makes you want to speedrun the gameplay AND the dialogue.

the dialogue is absolutely intentional, because it would be a disservice if you weren't cringing/laughing at people that take themselves too seriously

the dialogue in this game is fucking hilarious, peak cringe comedy. one of my favorite parts of it, really

There should be a mode where the character has his memories and is done with everyone's constant BS, so he just ignores them and skips everything but killing his enemies.

The dialogue is great, because it specifically pisses off the kinds of people who unironically use the word "cringe." It could've been more like Furi, where there's almost no story except one dude talking cryptically at you between each boss fight, but there's a different kind of appeal to goofy, cheesy dialogue between an hour of replaying the same parkour trying to shave off 5 seconds.

The dialogue is meant to filter out the casuals.

Its funny revisiting this video a year later and reading comments saying "no bro its actually MAKING FUN OF those types!!" But the fans of it are exactly those types.

I've played through the game without reading a single word of dialogue. Even collected and redeemed all the gifts 💀

The dialogue fucking sucks but the game itself is a 10/10 parkour game

Mr. Bingus voice acting encapsulates the cringe of the dialog perfectly.

Honestly, the gameplay looks interesting, but what kept me watching was seeing Albino's soul die like he was playing the Lost and got hit on the Beast in Isaac. That and the mockery that followed.

The dialogue in this game is amazing, you just don't like fun.

There was an atempt to make characters seem cool. But the line between cool and cringe is verry thin, and this games dialogue wasn't even standing near the border with cool
