I honestly like how different this scene is in Rebuild from the TV show. In the series, Ritsuko and folks are like "it's finally happening. Everything is put into motion." And then in Rebuild, no one has a FUCKING clue what's going on except that Shinji just went full fuck mode to save Rei.

So shinji really overcame his innate animal fear of the outside world, temporarily disintegrating his own AT field and transcending his human limitations, for a girl who treats him okay and looks like his mom? He really is a realistic protagonist.

Requested this one from you a couple years ago, and you finally delivered! Amazing as always, thank you so much for doing these NGE pieces, specially this one.

tbh i love the contrast of the rebuild berserk from the original berserk to where the original is like a beastial human, as u hear from its roars as it grows stronger, but the version we see in the rebuild has more of like the eva has push beyond our limits, limits to which we cant stop, control, or interfere with (until lance of longinus stops near 3rd impact, but i digress). we can no longer control what powerful monstrosity we created ourselves. its over. (i know, the original has broken free of their control as well, forgot to mention that too.)
