The horrifying level of the situation was such that Coco shot Neku again just to force him back into the Reaper's Game again, and revived Minamimoto as a Taboo Noise to be Neku's new partner. So this new game will either be a Prequel offering some explanation behind that, OR, be a sequel that will reveal how Neku plays a role in undoing that. Either way, I guess I am expecting a lot out of Tsugumi.

Honestly, I like this. This sequel is appealing to me, since the game looks much different, but doesn't deviate too far away from the art style that made The World Ends With You great to begin with. Gonna enjoy this one.

i got some disappoint on something showing on the trailer tho. The enviroment is kinda low quality, cutscene seme didnt got well on letting the character on some border and seperated with the background (while Old game let people feel the connection on character and the background itself), Fully charater dub would destroy the old experience while listen to music and reading too!

Meanwhile, on top of 104 building, a spiky-haired boy with a giant key is fighting an edgy boy with a crossbow

It's why Japan-oriented characters like Hero and Byleth weren't received well in the West, and why lesser known characters like Neku won't make it. Of course I'd love him to get in, but it's just too risky for Nintendo.

the original was on DS and arguable the best to co-op with BUT there is the switch port that is really good still. I highly recommend you play it or at least watch a play through of it.

If you have a DS system, get a copy for the DS. The game was made for the dual screen. If you don’t have a DS but do have a Switch then the Final Remix, which is a Switch port of the iOS port of the DS original, is a must buy. The main characters appear in Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance, which includes remixes of several tracks from The World Ends With You game.

The Mission: Avoid the Tabuu Noise and Survive until the Anime and the Sequel are available in the RG. Fail, and face Erasure. -The Reapers

The Final Remix port on Switch is a butchered garbage version of the original. I'd track down a DS copy and play that if I were you

Never ever thought we'd see a sequel to TWEWY but am I oh so glad we're getting one. I appreciate that it's still Shibuya, with all new characters, new but old gameplay mechanics and still has the same artistic flair and charm in both the animations and music. Looking to be a proper sequel!

Sort of nice how they disguised scenes and elements within the trailers to make context minimal for a lot of bits. Also clever use of cutscene animation in the Opening to illude to scenes in the game itself.

Back in 2008, the term 'meme' wasn't as widespread in the internet as it is today, so as a non-native english speaker, playing TWEWY was the first time I'd ever heard the term.

For quite some time the first TWEWY was my fav game and to this day it's still among my fav, can't believe where getting another one! And that a hole Minamimoto is back, awesome

If Square Enix knew what they were doing they wouldn't had brought the god-awful mobile version of TWEWY to Switch and would have brought a remastered version of the DS original instead. Still, this looks very promising.

I’m really exited to see what Rindo’s character arc is going to be out of all the things I’m exited for this game that is the thing I’m most exited to see because Neku’s was so good I’m really curious to see what they do with Rindo.

OH MY GOD FINALLY!! We asked for this for ages and we’re finally getting it!! Not only do we get an anime next year but we also get a new game!! This series is finally getting the love it deserves!!!
