I'm new to airbrushing & bought the Neo based purely on budget, it is one of the cheaper ones out there. I don't have anything to compare to in terms of airbrushes, but to say I'm impressed with the tool is an understatement. It is really easy to use & to clean. I've used mine with Tamiya & Lifecolor paints thinned either with water or manufacturers thinner, I find Tamiya paints need diluting slightly more while Lifecolor is a very thin paint anyway. I have not used enamels through this yet.

I bought one today and found it came with secret hidden "spare parts" as when i removed the air valve housing i found inside two squashed mini rubber o-rings in addition to the one needed and properly mounted on the valve stem, LOL. :-D After giving all disassembled parts a clean in the ultra sonic cleaner and oiling up the parts before reassembly i found it working much smoother than before and have not observed problems in omitting the "bonus" o-rings inside the valve assembly, nice tool.

I have the gravity fed version. Bought from Blick for $56, and happy so far. Coming from a Paasche VL ( siphon feed ) Really like the Neo. I'm even using 50 cent Apple Barrel craft paint mixed with nothing more than water, and having good results, even with fine detail.

Seeing all of these negative comments here about the Iwata Neo leaves me scratching my head in wonder! I have one and it performs great every time; fine lines and all. What are you folks doing with yours that's causing it to perform so badly? Are you sure it's not your paints? Case in point: I recently had to quit using Model Master paints for good (because I kept getting crappy finishes) and switch to Tamiya. I get excellent results every time with Tamiya.

I was wondering the same things. THIN YOUR PAINTS AND CLEAN YOUR BRUSH CORRECTLY and Neo is a sweet budget "Iwata"

Read a review of this Neo brush in Model Rail magazine and they gave it rave reviews. On the back of what you have showed me I am going to get one of these and avoid a more expensvive airbrush at over £100! This is great value for money at half that price! I am a 00 gauge modeller and want it to weather rolling stock. Thanks for great reivew.

Bought one of these for $47 at Hobby Lobby with the 40% coupon. Runs great with only two drops of paint. Cleaning is easy with water wash bottle and a trash bin. Then follow up with a little airbrush cleaner. Runs Wicked Colors without thinning no problem at 15 psi. I love it. I'm putting my Badger 175 away for a while.

With this airbrush can you spray with the needle exposed without the crown cap on?

After researching all available airbrushes on the market, I ended up getting a Badger 155 Anthem which I really love. I started to buy a Neo for Iwata, but found they are a Chinese made airbrush for Iwata. I wouldn't touch one with a ten foot pole. I love my Badger 155 Anthem and I think it's the best value for the money. The Badger does not need any special wrenches to take it apart or put it back together. Everything is finger tightened. Plus the fact that Badgers are made in the good ole USA. Parts and supplies are readily available. US Airbrush Supply carries all Badger products, supplies and parts and their shipping is reasonable. Another aspect I like about the Badger airbrush is that the trigger spring pressure is adjustable for a lighter touch. I removed the valve assembly and tore it apart. I found a spring in my spring jar that matched the original and I clipped off a couple of coils and reassembled the airbrush. Now it doesn't take as much pressure to turn on the air. If you have any air leaks around the spray head or spray regulator you can use plain ole chap stick on the threads and, presto, no air leaks.

Hi, I'm having trouble with my neo at the minute, I'm using water based paints after i done a colour change it wouldn't work properly, when the air cap is on tight it it is blocking the air flow? I don't know how as there is nothing in the way or visible, i cleaned all the parts with airbrush cleaner just in case it was a blockage but no change

Ive barely had mine for a year and ive only done 1 project with it- perfect grade falcon. And it seems broken- in the stem the part that shuts off the airflow seems to get stuck. I will release all pressure and air is still blowing out. I tap it a few times before it catches and blocks the air flow. Really annoying. After that happening for aheile it seems now the air pressure wont get any higher than a few psi due to the part in the stem getting stuck. Not sure how to fix this issue but my new, clean airbrush is now completely unreliable

I recently just got the syphon feed Iwata Neo and it's my first dual action airbrush. I absolutely love it and would recommend it. My question is, how often do you have to unscrew the nozzle to clean it? After each use I always spray the appropriate cleaner depending on the type of paint I use. Then I remove the nozzle cap and needle cap and soak in alcohol for a couple hours. I also remove the needle and clean that. Do I have to take off the nozzle after each use also?

Hi, im thinking about buying one of these. But can it only paint smaller details/lines? Cant it be used to paint bigger Surfaces, like on a model airplane or ship?

I'm actually having trouble with this same airbrush. It sprays for a few minutes then stops. The air will spray but no paint will come out. Not quite sure what is wrong.

Nope, only larger (using the 0,5 mm needle and nozzle from the bottom feed...It can still spray very fine hair lines with the 0,35 mm setup though, when using inks)

My experience with the budget airbrushes is not that good. I can make them work well, but they take a lot of work to keep working well. This means they do not really have a good market because if you are a beginner, you will soon become frustrated with them and if you are experienced then you will want to focus on you work and not messing with a finicky airbrush. I stick with name brand airbrushes like Badger. For a little more you can get a far better experience.

Poor quality. The one I have leaks at the nozzle. Iwata says to put vasaline on the threads. I paint slot cars with it and can barley get through a small project without clogging and very inconsistent spraying.

The Neo is a piece of crap, just tried to do a fine camouflage on my 1/35 tiger and I could not get a fine line it just sprays wide even at low psi.I used a £10 airbrush in the end.
