Still an awesome video - solved my problem. More importantly, uses the best music track ever, none of that wack electronica rave junk that usually gets pumped out. Kudos.
Now just wire in a variable speed controller and could be used on a camera slider?
Finally the first tutorial with actual code that works! I've been through a number of them where the code ultimately fails. Thanks!
Thanks for the video! I have an Nema 17 hooked up to a L298n and an Arduino. I have no issues operating it, but I'm having problems powering it. If I use a 5v 1a supply, it works but torque is low. If I use a 12v 2a supply, the torque is great, but the L298n pulses ever second or so which sends power to the motor. It doesnt appear to actually turn the motor, but it makes a buzzing noise which is VERY annoying. Do you know why I'm getting this pulsing from the driver?
If I want to use the joystick to do real-time control, what should I do?
Thank you for this helpful informations! Please let me ask a typical "Beginner-Question": I want to include a Potentiometer or 2 Switches (clockwise/counterclockwise) for controlling the NEMA17. How is the best way to integrate/connect? Have I to Change something in the Sketch? Thank you for your helpful answer.
Kindly tell me how to program stepper motor to make any specific number of revolution in clockwise direction and then the same number of revolution in anticlockwise direction continuously. And also how can I vary the speed of revolution. All the programming I am getting is about single revolution in clockwise and single in anticlockwise direction.
Hello, my L298 gets tremendously hot as soon as connected to the Pins 8,9, 10 and 11 of the Arduino board. I use L298N with a Nema 17 45Ncm 1.5A 12V and identic wiring as shown by you. This has quite some effect on the step motor after 30secs that get noisy then stops working after 30secs. Thank you for any hint.

Most of Nema17 work only with new drivers : A4988 , Tmc2208.

Yes I tried with TB6600 and works great. With L298 Nema17 don' t move at all.My Nema17 motors have only 2ohm resistance of coil.
Great video........Check out my ps2 controlled car I used a l298n but the motor over heats fast any advice
Could you provide the parts used to incorporate the belt driven linear actuator?
How to determine A+&A-&B+&B- mine is just vibrate and not moving. Nema 17 5.6kg motor driver and connected similar to you. Power supply 2amp 5 volt please help
Sir... The link i cant access.. i really i need this sketch T T
I am sorry, i am wondering which model of a 3D-Printer we are seeing in the Video .
Hy nice
I'm sorry but you can apply ~35V on the 12V input? what?
has anyone gotten this L298N+Nema 17 to work with ESPHome or Tasmota? if so, could you please show the wiring diagram as well as the codes?
I used an arduino i previously had used to play the game of thrones theme song on a piezo buzzer and when i turned it all on the motor started humming the theme song
it is possible to control microsteping?
شكرا انت فنانة
Did not work for me ! I think the newer motors need A4988 .
Молодец милашка
Pretty limited use project as it requires two power sources (5V and 12V).
Unable to find the sketch. link is broken
I want use wemos instead of arduino

Nice
Hi I needed some help with ardino sketching. I just started a month ago. I need some help with a project that i am working on.
Not for low resistance stepper motors Nema17 , HS4401 doesn't work.

what type of this nema?
thanks i like ittt

I'm using 5A 12V power source and 1.68A stepping motors, but they are only vibrating, tried all wires combinations, do you have an idea to make it work ? :(

I had this issue too. A couple things you could try: make sure the polarity is correct on you connections. Use a multimeter to see the resistance it should be .009 ohms. If that doesn't work disconnect your ground wire from your power supply and the arduino and make sure your PSU outputs a minimum of 3.5 amps. This will be 1.7 amps per motor phase.

Try with another drivers ie. A4988 or TMC.

@Andrew-gx3ps

@@Dr.Sarkar Hi, If you're using a PS that is capable of supplying more than the 2A max of L298N, you can still use the power supply. What you'll need to do to make this work and not overheat/blow your L298n is to send a PWM signal to the enable pins on the H-Bridge. Start with a low duty cycle and increase from there. If youre driving 2 phases of a stepper with the H-Bridge, set the PWM to be the same for both enA and enB. Sending a PWM signal to the enable pins is used to limit the current passing through your L298N module. If you are currently setting the enable pins to HIGH, your essentially setting up a 100% duty cycle thus allowing the full current to pass through. If your current is not limited by your PS or by PWM, current will pass through and it is defined by Ohm's Law(ignoring induction of the motor). I hope this helps you. Have fun :)
