My kid in Nelson, his college(Nayland) closed tomorrow because of the floods. Me in France, two months above 30° inside my home (computer and connexion out of order from noon till midnight about), drought, groundwater depleted...Gaïa's anger is mounting! Of course the real responsible have enough money to protect themselves...

While man accelerated climate change is very real, there has always been the odd extreme weather event, I haven't seen any data to show these NZ flood events are on the increase.

@@Battleneter You can't have been looking very hard as there have now been four major flooding events in a one-year period (2021-2022) and this is not 'normal'.

@@walterandbruges That's not like a 50 year trend mate, could be just random bad luck OR a direct effect of climate change, its important to understand what you are looking at and don't make assumptions.

Southern Hemisphere is cooling, more than the Northern Hemisphere is warming.

And of course, the weather event can be ideologically tethered to 'catastrophic anthropogenic runaway climate change'.
