I live in the town which is State College because the local politicians and townspeople couldn 't agree on a name change when Penn State changed from an Ag college status to a University! Mount Nittsny would have honored the local tribes who left the region as the 18th century Pennsylvania settlements grew. It's wonderful you honored Nelson Mandela in your University traditions. I 'm 81. I have lived here most of that time. I'm a Penn State alumna and a retiree of it as well. The enormous campus requires a free bus system that gets government funding to sustain it. I am wondering how off campus students and emp!oyees manage to get there without cars. It must get quite hot there. Has climate change made that worse? We have a huge residential community at the outskirts in every direction. Are there such developments around Mandela U?

​@marthaevans6932 hi there. I am currently a Nelson Mandela University student. There is a free shuttle service which the university offers to all its students who live in Port Elizabeth and the surrounding areas. Even students who live far from the university has a way to get there.
