Neil Young - Old Man (Live at Farm Aid 2013)

Музыка

Neil Young performs "Old Man" at the Farm Aid concert in Saratoga Springs, NY on September 21, 2013. Farm Aid was started by Willie Nelson, Neil Young and John Mellencamp in 1985 to keep family farmers on the land and has worked since then to make sure everyone has access to good food from family farmers. Dave Matthews joined Farm Aid's board of directors in 2001.
For more information about Farm Aid, visit: farmaid.org/youtube
Farm Aid's performances are donated by the artists in order to raise funds and raise awareness for family farmers. They've raised their voices to help - what can you do?

it gives it a weird vibe to actually see this song being performed by Neil as an Old Man knowing it was written when he was that young, makes it feel like if it was intended for his "older" himself

@Electric Eyes I was thinking the very same thing. Just in case you think "Well, this young lady has good taste in music, I'm actually her mother and I DID look much like her 30 years ago. But, I regret, no longer. Her dad always loved Neil's music, but I have only recently realised just what an amazing artist he really is. My husband and I are no longer together, but I can't help but think of my ex father in law whom I cared for for many years until his death last year aged 97 when I listen to this song, and I listen to it a LOT.. He was the best man I ever met or will meet and it is coming up to both his birthday week and next month the first anniversary of his death. I first met Joe as a 15 year old school girl and when he died I was a 53 year old grandma. It was an honour to care for such a wonderful "Old Man"! I'm so blessed to be able to listen to this song and recall his life and our time together. Greetings from Australia!

He is a god, we should all bow down to him, laying prostrate on the ground, we should give him all our money, work for him for free, spend all day singing Hosannas in his honor, then go home and build an altar to him in our backyards and sacrifice children to him in hopes that he might smile favorably on us. A mighty fortress is Neil Young, a bulwark never failing, protecting us with staff and rod, his arms are ever flailing.

I was young young when this song came out. I'm 57 now it still gives me chills. It's made me think of my Dad he was an over the road trucker lucky if he was home a full weekend a month. In my child mind made me miss my dad and now it still had the same effect. Dad's been gone since 2005. 7 kids 1 passed we never went without sheets had what we needed. Not always getting what we wanted. 4 boys 2 girls raised with a Italian dad. Strict he was but I'm grateful for all the values, morals, etc he made sure we lived by them daily even over the road. Love n miss you much Daddy Jack Frost His CB handle. When he smiled or laughed his cheeks would get all Rosey and frosty.💯🤗😍🚚☮️✝️♥️🇺🇸

Neil Young recorded this song in 1972. Well I've loved it all my life, and now I'm an adult. And I'm 24. And there's so much more. Between my dad and the old timers I work with, this song is so true. Same as it was then. I'm a lot like you were. Doesn't mean that much to me, to mean that much to you. The more things change the more they stay the same

Next time I saw him he said that he had listened to Neil but I did it better. Ha Ha. I have tried this song a few times but could not quite get it. I will try again. There is a great recording made by the BBC when he was 24 its on KZread somewhere. Even at his age he still has a massive vocal range. Love him.

Incredible that he still sounds pretty much the same as in 1971 when he first played this song live. One of a kind.

His musicality is amazing, timeless, and ageless. That's amazing but his speech just tops it all off. Really impressive guy.

nearly 10 years later after this concert with a message, still governmentals refuse to listen to wise words, leaders that only listen to money-money & greedy stories... Gives much more and huge respect to Neil Young and many more artist or nature defenders. Keep on going fantastic people, never let you shut your mouth about the truth behind "economics" that destroys our world ...
