The Congress and M K Ghandhi were both unfair to Subash Da. In the Calcutta Congress Session, Subash Bose won the presidential election hands down against Pattabi Seethaaramaiah ( nominee of Ghandhi.). Unable to accept the defeat of his nominee, Ghandhi directed all his supporters in the newly constituted CWC to resign. Disappointed Bose, left the Congress and formed his Forward Block Party. This shows that Ghandhi is a fascist to the core. His rejection of Patel to accomodate Nehru in spite of the all the Pradesh Congress Presidents/ committe again shows Ghandhi in poor light. His contention that Nehru is a better speaker of English is HOODWINKING the Public.( Perhaps he might have meant, Nehru was more charming to English Ladies- remember Edwina Mountbatten. Again Ghandhi sat on a fast unto death demanding the Government to part with 55 crores ( partition charges) be paid to Pakistan. This was opposed by Patel, who said Pakistan is engaged in a war with India and the amount will be used by them to procure weapons to be used against India. Ghandhi did not relent. Ultimately, the Government succumbed to the BLACKMAIL of this man. Historians have been very kind to these two leaders i.e. Nehru and Ghandhi and put under the carpet the sacrifices of most of the other leaders.

You want to say this Acha to Jo election hua tha I think those people who voted they were uneducated and didn't know that nehru was great and voted for sardar Patel and that of undemocratic elections happened right and Nehru was great in impressing Foreigners and especially Britishers so because of this he had much knowledge of world policies and Yes He won the Hearts of all the British officers by getting impressed they gave the independence and gave him the power.

Sardar Patel himself didn't wanted to become the PM as he was 72 years old & was very ill during his last years. Whereas age & health was in favor of Nehru, also he had good experience in foreign affairs, which was very important for a newly independent nation. Also, it was sardar ji who endorsed the selection of Nehru as a Prime Minister. 1st Election took place during 1951-52, when both Gandhiji & Sardarji had passed away. So Nehru was the Only leader having Mass appeal across the Nation. People voted for Congress & Nehru. Note :Sardar patel or S.C.Bose would have been a great prime minister because of their pragmatic politics whereas Nehru's idealism was fatal many a times (eg: J&K issue, Chinese war etc) But still having such a strong mandate & no strong political rivals alive, Nehru could have easily become a dictator, but he kept the Democratic spirit of the Nation alive & that's what his legacy is.

Same thing happened in 1939 when Gandhi was not in favor of Subhash Chandra Bose's candidacy for the Congress presidency. However, Bose won the election against Gandhi's preferred candidate, Pattabhi Sitaramayya. As a result, Gandhi resigned from the Congress Working Committee in protest. Later, Bose resigned from the presidency in 1939 due to ideological differences with the Congress leadership.

There is also a line of thought that .... Sardar Patel had a deteriorating health condition and Mahatma Gandhi ji wanted a PM who could serve for as long as possible. Vallabh bhai Patel was 72 years of age, and was facing health issues, on the other hand Nehru was relatively younger... India just got independent we needed stable governance for a while. Vallabh bhai let us in 1950. Hence Nehru was maybe a better choice...

In this government, Patel served as minister of Home, State, Information and also as Deputy Prime Minister. He did commendable job of unifying India by accession of 565 princely states in this same period. 3. Patel had a first heart attack after the assassination of Gandhi. His health deteriorated after that. He died on 15 December 1950 due to another heart attack. 4. General elections were held in India between 25 October 1951 and 21 February 1952. The video clearly mentioned the election of Congress President in 1946. It in turn decided who would be the prime minister of India till general elections were held. So what she said in video is completely correct. Your point is invalid unless Gandhi knew all this in advance.

Remember death of Pandit Nehru and lal Bahadur Sahstri was also Sudden. But it doesn't create that much impact. At that time we need a stable Government, not a young Pm who live long. No doubt Nehru had done some things for India. But he decision were not that much bold. He tried to decrease the power of army. Kashmir issue had already solved, we won the whole part but he went UN and UN mark a LOC. Due to him article 370 was established. He gave Veto Power to China. Later china attacked us on 1962 war. If he were not the PM then these war were not happened. Kyuki koi PM nahi chahta chaina ko apna bhai banana, kyuki unko dikhta usne already Tibet me kya kiya h. But still he raise a slogan " Hindi chini Bhai Bhai. " Due to 62 war, 65 war were also happened, Thank god we had Lal Bahadur shastri we had.

Mr. Nehru had more support of the people (North and South of India )compared to other candidates (Mr. Patel and Mr. Rajaji),Mr. Patel had good support in North and Mr. Rajaji had good support of the South. 2. Mr. Patel had support of the 12 pcc presidents out 15 . On a grassroot level among the Congress workers ,Mr. Nehru had more support. Mr. Patel also knew this and That is also another reason why Mr. Patel withdrew the nomination. 3. And another main reason was Mr. Nehru was youngest among the candidates. Gandhi realized that while that Patel would agree to work as Nehru’s deputy, the reverse would most certainly not happen. Thus Gandhi intervened and asked Patel to withdraw his nomination. In deference to Gandhi, Kripalani nominated Nehru and withdrew from the contest. Patel who regarded Gandhi as his mentor then willingly stepped aside in favour of Nehru.

It's very sad that Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel sir is underrated 💔.... From my childhood I'm hearing about Gandhi but why not about Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel? Becuz due to the education in India🙂 I'm 10th now and in my 10th textbook Patel sir role is just in integrating princely states!! Until unless I saw this video I don't even know that Nehru became the pm without even a single vote ❗

No sis. Nehru might have been a good diplomat but Patel made a damn good home minister and strategist. Uniting the princely states no laughing matter. Few came voluntarily but few didn’t. He took over the nizam by deploying the army. You know there is a story about a dog and donkey in which the moral is one excels in his own expertise but not other. Similarly both of them had their plus points, but I don’t think Nehru would have deployed the army to take over princely states

This is what happens when you learn history from WhatsApp...when it became clear that Bharat was going to get Independence from British, the 1st PM of the nation had to be decided and in 1946, 15 Congress members were asked to vote either Patel or Nehru... 12 of them voted for Patel and 3 of them abstained from voting... Nehru got 0 votes... So update yourself
