    I heard this interpretation yesterday at a concert at the Philharmonic in Lublin. Hats off! Probably the best piano performance I've ever heard live (recordings are a completely different thing). Great technique and perfect interpretation. The lyrical moments gave me tears in my eyes. Of course, there was a standing ovation. Interesting encores - witty different than Rachmaninoff's music. A great pianist grew up for us.

    What an amazing pianist! Szymon is definitely the best pianist in his generation in the world. He has the power of drawing attention of the audience and make them instantly fall in love with any piece he performs. I do not usually listen to Rachmaninov, but with Szymon it became suddenly a very exciting piece. I wish this brilliant pianist a continuous growth and a very bright future he duly deserves.

    So this is the first time I hear about this pianist and listen to his interpretation of rach 3. He is clearly technically very talented and solid. And, for the most part, I felt like he was able to communicate the music well with its passions and nuances. He moved with the music, not drawing too much attention to the interpreter: I think this is one of the most "respectful" and accurate interpretations that I've heard and it's really a good thing, but perhaps also a reason for why some versions have made a greater emotional impact on me. The only problem here was that at various times I didn't feel the connection with the soloist and the orchestra functioned perfectly. In any case, this is a marvellous version and definitely one I can recommend to anyone.

Brawo Szymon.

    this is one of the very few exciting performance of this piece emerged lately, even with orchestra not following him so perfectly the soloist just rides along with confidence and brilliance. especially loves his tone, there are many young talents nowadays who claims this pieace but very few manages to produce that mellow, singing tone like his.

    90% musical conservatory piano faculty students are impossible to be professional pianist and concert pianist. To be pianist just only 10%. Don't mention the dream to be pianist. Now to be piano teacher in musical conservatory is not so easy. Performance skill and demonstration skill for piano teacher's teaching is very important.

  • @howardlitson9796

    @howardlitson9796

    We can 💯% make sure that 90% musical conservatory piano faculty students can't meet the standard requirements about strict tempo of essential technique to based on the fingers touch. For example: Czerny op 740 tempo requirements half note = 92. Czerny op 740 tempo requirements half note = 96. Scale exercise and Hanon exercising setting up tempo mark requirements should be quarter note = 160 to 176. So many musical conservatory piano faculty students are not strict required themselves to setting up tempo mark and they often never use metronome to exercise. That's reason why so many musical conservatory piano faculty students are impossible to be pianist or to be excellent piano teacher in musical conservatory.

Technique and music are combination each other.

    Why is it that most all performances cannot keep the ensemble at 43:21 where the accelerando begins? He looked at the conductor through the whole of the big theme, and then sure enough they are not of one mind about when and how much to speed up. It’s even worse in the Trifonov KZread clip, where that spot wrecks an otherwise sublime performance.

    Could you give a name of a pianist who plays it better? I'd be most interested. "Absurd" technique? Rather, at last there is a pianist whose exquisite technique makes it unnecessary for the orchestra (superb one, BTW) to slow down for him while playing this piece. They are completely in sync...and they seem to appreciate it.

    SORRY ABSURDO IN PORTUGUESE, IN THIS CONTEXT, MEANS SOMETHING INCREDIBLE, UNBELEVABLE, SUPERB. aS I SAID, TECNICALY I THOUGH HIM THE BEST, INCREDIBLE, BUT SOMETIMES RUN FASTER THAN THE ORQUESTRA HE NEEDS MORE CONFIDENCE... BUT I REALLY ADMIRE HIS TECNICS. It should express more security and depth in the expression of themes. The themes are so deep that they should immerse the listener into such romantic suffering that one comes to cry. In this contest he deserves the First Prize with certainty. I hope he learns to feel, to touch with his soul, although his execution was very, very excellent...I didnt find any pianist that played like him in this constest...
