Sweet. A few years ago I met a 50 year old black lawyer that was into punk and metal big time. I was there working on his computer for the company I worked for at the time. He had punk streaming from Pandora and he and I had a lenghty conversation about old school punk rock/metal. I thought it was prttey cool. Not everyday I run into a black punk/metal head. Rare where I live lol.

@@DonTheMoron716 The Hillbillies of largely Scots-Irish origin had a massive influence on what became rock "n' roll and all that followed after with their rockabilly that was essentially revved up country and bluegrass. Listen to the church music of the Appalachia region and the snake handling pentecostal sects in particular. That is primeval rock and roll stripped to it's bare bones. Black America with Gospel and the blues had an undoubted huge impact but rock has always been a musical melting pot drawing on different cultural currents.

This is a Skrewdriver cover. For the uninitiated, Skrewdriver is one of the most infamous white-supremacist/neo-nazi skinhead bands of all time. So that makes it about 1000% more hilarious and interesting. The original song is called Voice of Britain.

Walking 'round streets, Hand-in-hand with fear (whoa-oh) No-one can tell What is 'round the bend Don't side with the other side, 'Cause if you do we'll find you (whoa-oh) Want to know exactly If you classify as friends 'Cause this is the voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis And you better believe it The voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis Come on and fly the flag now It's a time when our old people Can't walk the streets alone (whoa-oh) Fought for this city Is this all they get back? Risked their lives for Memphis, But now Memphis belongs to the troglodytes 'Bout time that the city went And took their city back 'Cause this is the voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis And you better believe it The voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis Come on and fly the flag now Now we'll have a go At the TV and the papers And all the media stupids That like to keep us quiet Trying to bleed our city, They're the leeches of the nation We won't give up quickly, We're going to stand and fight 'Cause this is the voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis And you better believe it The voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis Come on and fly the flag now The voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis And you better believe it The voice (the voice), The voice (the voice) Of Memphis Come on Memphis awake now!
