So heartwarming to hear that the Intendencia is being restored! Intramuros used to be my "playground" because my Lola had a house there (in Gen. Luna St.) and every weekend, we would be in Intramuros. It brings back so many good memories... and seeing your videos make us appreciate history even more. Thank you for featuring this, Fern!!

I read somewhere meron daw “portal” sa loob nyang Intendencia na yan. Even Palacio del Gobernador in Intramuros has one.

Saludo po kami sa mga taong may puso sa mga historical building at mga gusaling classic na inererestore ang mga ito. Sana po ay dumami pa kayo at ng maayos pa ang pwede pang ayusin. At ipakita at patunayang ang Pilipinas ay isang bansang nakakaakit sa ganda at aristokrata. 🇵🇭

I am feeling so nostalgic watching your vlogs. We used to live in Binondo ( C.M.Recto)..i used to walk to Intramuros through Jones Bridge where my father used to work at Comelec (near Manila Cathedral). Eventually I went to PLM... Most of the ancestral homes you featured, I had seen in the 70's-80's since I studied at Pedro Guevarra Elem. School in San Nicolas...🙂❤️

ADUANA bldg..custom bldg. I love going to Intramuros..so peaceful...ambiance is different

Aduana Intramuros, I used to work with BF Homes/Banco Filipino in Paranque in early 80's and their main office is located in Aduana, the building is still standing up to this day. The statue of Queen Isabel II of Spain was situated in front of Malate church in 1896 and between Guerrero elemen. school where I graduated 4th grade in 1968/69, but the statue was blown down by typhoon in 1970, so they moved it in Intramuros where it's hidden from people to see. Thanks for the memories!

You are doing a good job in respecting our history and how our politicians disrespect these beautiful structures by selling them and destroying it at the same time. That is why history is no "tsismis" ever and now Jose Rizal may not be far away and be red tagged as well.

KaKZreadro, pakisabi naman sa bagong Mayor to take care of Pasig River kasi dami ng water lilies. Doesnt look good; and they should do something about the electrical wirings.

Nakapunta ako jan.pag anjan ka nalala mo kong ano ang pammuhay noon kaysa Ngayon.

I was working in the Bureau of Immigration during the sixties. The one you called Aduana became Intendencia was once office building of the Bureau of Treasury. When it got burned in late sixties or early seventies. We watched it being destroyed by fire. My friend husband works there and sometimes we eat in their canteen inside the building. For your information only.

Hey Fern, that was a great piece of historical information about ‘La Intendencia’. Manila is very rich in history, and of course the country as well. Intendencia is something to do with the administrative area, or Manager’s office. That’s good, the building is being restored. The city has added another historical icon and a place of interest for tourists. Great video!👍🏼 😊 Thanks pal!

Hello Fern, this is Vern. We have the same interests about the past, when it comes to a certain area/building that offered abundant historical facts. I have noticed that small area next to the La Intendencia, on the foot of Intamuros Binondo bridge, I believed that was Plaza de Mexico. That’s another piece of history during the east - west commercial trading during the olden days. Another significant and/or historical event in Manila that we can be proud of. I gathered from hearsay that it might had been the actual trading place (?).

I was hoping you would notice and tell us all about the monument regarding the Mexico Philippine Trade 1564 1964. Maybe next time, opportunities for improvements are always there. I would be impressed if you have a lot of historical documents on hand so that you can research more about everything that the camera sees

Please make a vlog on the different entrance gates of Intramuros the Walled City. The design of the Intramuros is also patterned after the old cities of Europe.

That's a huge building.

Mas nakilala at pinansin ulit ang intramuros simula nung panahon ni Sen Gordon as DOT Secretary at ni launch nya ang WOW Philippines. Kasi nagkaroon dati dyan ng night bazzare and cultural shows.

Sana mafeauture mo ang Vigan Ilocos Sur, i love that place! Maraming heritage places dyan!

Yes, naabutan ko na po yan nun nasunog na at diyan kasi kami parati nadaan kapag papasok going Letran. I remember na tinawag nilang Treasury/Comelec yan at one time. For so many years na di nila ginalaw yan from late 80's pa. Pero it's good to know na ni-restore na nila yan. 😊 At totoo po na dyan sa Magallanes Drive noon ay ginagawang parking lot ng mga busses (Jam,St. Raphael, Saulog) noon wala pa pong terminal sa Lawton during the 80's,then mga PUJs ( jeepneys) at private vehicles. Mabuti nga po malinis na sya ngayon. And I remember may mga rebulto din po na nakatayo around the area...isa po yun sa may Expedition Plaza (Mexico-Phils.) at isa rin po dun sa may dulo going to Letran High School na nasa gitna ng street. 😊 Saka po yun sabi nyo na Banco Pilipino (21:08) dati din po syang Far East Bank in the early late 80's/early 90s...time noon na na-introduce ang Megalink at ang competitor na BancNet (not sure kung ano na ito ngayon).

Kailangan batas para ma restore historical sites and structures,Huwag ibenta sa parivate person.Ganoon na rin sa mga industry which one time prosper our country and be known for vibrant commercial activities long time ago.

Magkahalong lungkot at ligaya pag makita mo mga historical sites sa Manila at sa iba png dako ng bansa. Ang ganda din ng binondo-intramuros bridge parang superstar among the bridges of Pasig river. Very nostalgic sna bumalik s classic ang Manila khit na nsa modernong panahon na tayo.

Marami pang ni rerestore na lumang bldgs sa intarmuros. Halos kalahati na ang rehabilitasyon ng intiendencia ngayon. May plano na rin irelocate ang mga squatters sa loob ng intramuros
