Totally feel you on preferring reviews to be as spoiler-free as possible, but I love how you went into a little bit more detail with this one. You did an amazing job of selling this book imo! I am definitely going to add this book to my TBR, I can't wait to be unsettled 🤩

finished it a couple days ago. and I mostly just wish I could read it for the first time again. one of the most interesting things I've read in a while. didn't find it scary either, but it had this incredible atmosphere, a constant oppressive sense that "everything is ruined and will keep on getting worse and nothing you do will make any difference".

I definitely plan on reading this book! I read the first 6 pages on amazon and i fell in love

Spoilers - Lou is trans, correct? She is referenced as she by friends and “he” by parents. Half way through, so maybe it’s further explored, but had to ask.

Just finished it and needed to cool down and hear someone else talk about it just to make sure its real. B.R. Yeager certainly succeeded at creating a new myth.

I finished the book, as you said I want to talk about it, but I have a bad opinion of it. Two things make me think that it went straight to press and wasn't edited much or didn't have a big beta reader pool. What did you find scary exactly?

I found the nightmare sequences the most disturbing, but it's one of those books that isn't for everyone. What was your least favorite part of the book?

@@SteveTalksBooks there was a name error, and a tongue in cheek reference to the reader that with held information that was never revealed. It was also hard to like the characters due to some behaviors that didn't make sense.

@@SteveTalksBooks I forget the context but I think Lu says something along the lines of "I won't tell you what it read." Which made no point to reference the reader or it talk about something that they wouldn't expound on
