I think the argument is more that the governor is the most pure evil person, but hard to say based on the show, he too lost his family and it messed him up, the governor was way worse in the comics! He cut ricks hand off

​​@@BlazeBudsdefinitely worse in the comics. The show toned him down a lot but that's because AMC constraints. If the show had been ran by HBO they'd have been more true to the comics. I didn't like The Governor because he felt basic as anything. He didn't seem to have an agenda aside from being evil. That's Saturday catoon villain type shit. He has mustache and he's a mustache twirling villain. Poorly written. Negan however is more complex. He is brutal and violent, and because he killed Glenn the audience hate him. But Rick's group were killing Saviours first and for the amount of people they killed they got off lightly. Which begs the question- is Rick's group any better? They have blood on their hands to but we, as an audience, side with Rick because there's the familiarity through exposure.

The whole “cult” like presence and influence of Negan is brilliant. How he keeps power, killing one person in the wrongest way possible is smart. It keeps all the groups who serve him in line by showing them the punishment if they rebel, while also keeping his men in line by showing who is “bigger and badder.” The psychology of Negan is very fucking interesting and scarily, one that could likely be used in real life by the right person in the right circumstances.

This guy carried a whole franchise, morgan did such an amazing job with this one

If the world was turn to shit and i somehow met Negan, i would join him

If I didn’t become a Negan myself then yes I would join him as well 🙏

When i saw him for the first time i thought he was cool but hated him a lot. After he lost to Rick he changed a lot and since then he's one of my top 3 best character in TWD franchise. And also JDM is THE best actor who can play negan. I can't even imagine anyone else playing negan.

Funny thing is I believe the comic Negan is actually based of a fairly popular actor, can't remember who but he actually lost his own role to Jeffrey lol he never thought he had a chance to play Negan and as you said, couldn't imagine anyone else doing it

We already got it when Glenn looked at all the pictures. They were saving people from the zombies and then they got power hungry and forced people to give them half their stuff without service. They became egotistical, if you notice each villain is the opposite but same coin as Rick. Governor = revenge and leadership Negan = Merciless So Rick would have probably done the same as negan if he had the same people

Also Glen was because of Daryl! Somehow everyone forgets that. Big Red took one for the team or 6 or 7. I honestly liked Daryl at the start but his character got boring fast and didn't get any better imo plus I always blamed him for Glen

Negan was an amazing character, but it is unfortunate the walking dead had to go the same boring generic route of villain loses or is redeemed. like no, stop it. Negan should have WON. He was the perfect villain for a series to have as a WINNER. So many writers are scared to make villains win, it must always be the heroes who win.

I agree. There's no logical reason behind Rick's group winning the war, and they missed such a huge opportunity with Negan's storyline. I wish they'd do more about Negan in dead city, but I doubt it'll happen. They're so fixated on Maggie and Hershel..
