I guess thats mainly because he’s from south india and most south indians have huge hesitation to choose a North Indian college because of discrimination

AIIMS has a huge South Indian Community in UG, PG and Faculty. I don’t they face discrimitin their 5.5 yrs of MBBS here.

South Indians face less discrimination compared to what North Indians faces in South....it's very difficult to change but it's bitter truth.... will not argue on this in comment section but felt little discriminated in South even after knowing basic language little problems there .....Sorry People if you felt hurt but truth is truth....Don't tell Northies bla bla bla...I saw that and don't want to see here!

Not a bad decision. He’s from Chennai and it will take him a lot of time to learn Hindi and get accustomed to the culture in Delhi. He might as well join JIPMER and be in his element. Not too much of a difference between the two institutions anyway. The AIIMS Delhi tag isn’t worth the trouble of facing discrimination and feeling homesick for the next 5.5 years.

That’s what I said in the video, not much difference between the two. Although I would disagree on the discrimination part. My batch of 72 had around 30 friends from the south. I wouldnt say they felt discriminated. AIIMS has a huge South Indian community both in UG, PG and Faculty.

@@mightguy3756 my batch had one. Majority of South Indians are from Kerala and Andhra Pradesh. My batch of 72 had 27 people from Kerala.

My brother figure uncle Dr. Ganapathy did mbbs, ms and mch from AIIMS. Born and brought up in Chennai and after Mch in 2005 left for Chennai then worked in Australia and other places. Currently contributing to charitable hospital treating millions of children as he is the best cardiac surgeon.

Air 9 also took jipmer

This is a very big misconseption. Your college or brand name doesnt matter in U.S.A. USMLE is a licensing exam and it doesn't care about your college. Regarding CV and portfolio again U.S. doesnt care about it. U have an extra edge in matters of more researches, journals and audits in AIIMS but again in training all they care about is how good your skills are. So you can say AIIMS people have a 4% EXTRA EDGE during training jobs

Its his personal choice and his dream college from the beginning of his prep( as he mentioned in an interview). I am an 2024 aspirant from south and i would chose JIPMER over AIIMS any day. thats because JIPMER is something that we always dreamt of from childhood. most of the students from south especially Tamil nadu if we say we want to become a doctor when we grow up, the next statement would be set our ambition to become a JIPMERite. It was always preceded as a prestigious institute like the 'IIT OF MEDICINE' , though the the ranking is less when compared to AIIMS we have a special place in our heart for JIPMER

Y u didn't choose AIIMS Delhi many aspirants dream college even u got 1St learning Hindi is not a matter

This is a common misnomer; in fact majority students of AIIMS who are toppers score poor at Step 2 Institution national importance or deemed hospital it will not effect our hardwork but regarding CV students of AIIMS has an extra edge
