This song is especially meaningful for me. My brother died last August. Since we were ten years apart and lived on opposite sides of the country, we were never really close for most of our lives, nothing in common and totally opposite worldviews. That all changed though when a heart defect caused him to lose everything and I brought him to live with me. I was shocked at how easy we were able to talk and communicate after being strangers for so long. Everything just fell into place and it was just us. I'm so grateful we had that chance to reconcile and be brothers even if it was just for a short while.

Even though its called "Brother" I want to dedicate this song to my sister. She died in 2000, and she had just turned 8 two weeks before. She died of cancer (not sure what kind) I never met her sadly. Her school dedicated a poem to her as well.

Im 24 i grew up as a Jehovah's witness got heavy into drinking from 11th grad till i was 22 i was a satanist and was drinking up to a half gallon of whiskey a day. The last 4 months ive been going to church with all my coworkers and got baptized as a Christian on 12/10/23 and this song has helped me a lot

I'm 67 years old and just heard this song playing in a shop. To me it was a message from Jesus and I scrambled to find who the singer was and read the lyrics and take the meaning in. You should care about what happens to everyone Your, Brothers, Sisters, Mothers, Fathers, etc. (I am sure you care for these people) Most important though, You should care what happens to you The less you care about you, the less you'll care about others Not to mention it says directly in the bible to care for yourself there are over 100 verses, but my personal favorite would be the following 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 "Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies." There are others I will send just incase this one does nothing, look them up if you get the time. 3 John 1:2 1 Corinthians 3:16 1 Corinthians 3:17 1 Peter 5:7-9 There are alot more you can do the research for I would suggest memorizing one or two so that when you start to be careless about yourself you can read it over and over to yourself until you care

This song has a true meaning. My husband has a friend that was in the Vietnam War, he is like family like a brother to him. When his friend got out of the military, he would go through ptsd and night terrors my husband was there. He was his brother not by blood but by being a friend, a brother in need is family indeed .

Didn't grow up in a Christian home but became a Believer later in adolescence. Totally spent my entire teens discovering and listening to Christian music. First concert was Skillet. Also saw Switchfoot in concert, they're a hoot. I listened mostly to the non-contemporary stuff tho like Newsboys (before Michael Tait took over), OC Supertones, Superchic[k], P.O.D., KJ-52, all kinds of rock, rap, and hardcore, and whatever played on one of our previously only 2 Christian radio stations. Sometimes I almost miss the rawness of Christian music/bands from the late 90s to 2000s. I have a harder time finding as much variety nowadays.

the fact that 90% of the comments are about supernatural gives me hope that even after the show ends next year, the spn family will stay together and that’s all i need ❤️

Yes needtobreathe is a Christian band but there's nothing wrong with them having songs that share a powerful message of love and hope for ppl that don't believe in God. I love all their songs but it's good that they are spreading good messages out into the world that non Christians can enjoy. They are planting seeds and that is what God wants from us.

NeedtlBreathe released the song before Gavin signed on to sing it with them for the re-release. So they are just playing the original version of the song :) No worries! Christians love Gavin!! :)

This song is especially meaningful to me, it reminds me of my loving brother Scott. Scott fought one heck of a battle with stage 4 brain cancer for 9 years. My heart ached for only a little bit. At his funeral, my loving brother showed himself to me, he was young, free, and at peace. I am ever so thankful and grateful to be able to experience that beautiful blessing from God. No matter what stage of life and or battle you are facing God is with his children, deep within your heart and soul. At the feet of Jesus there you'll be! I hope they use this song for a military commercial or some kind of support group for military personnel men who have gone out to war and mentally and emotionally are stuck in the battlefield and don’t want to come home. Beautiful song.

I read something in the Bible where Jesus is referred to as a ‘brother’. It’s sometimes hard , but ultimately, Christ is who we can lean on call on. who can take us higher. In Holy Spirit he is with us always, we need nothing to live up to, His love is unconditional and everlastingly.
