Needle Felting My Favorite SQUISHMALLOWS! 2

Ойын-сауық

I keep ending up at Five Below & finding tons of squishmallows while squishmallow hunting, to customize & paint on. I've found quite a few squishmallows, even some rare squishmallows at Five Below, however there are some that I'm still hunting down. Today I'm going to be needle felting some of my top favorite squishmallows including Benny the bigfoot, Archie the axolotl, Emily the bat, and Malcolm the mushroom (sadly no Avery this time). This isn't my first time needle felting, it's actually my second so I'm still a beginner. This time around I didn't need to use a needle felting kit, but this video isn't exactly a needle felt tutorial, hopefully you can still get an idea of how to needle felt by watching it though! I like customizing things and turning them EVIL, it's kind of my thing. In fact I have quite a few series where I do some cheap diys that end up looking pretty chaotic. Other makeover series that I do include Dollar Store Makeovers, Thrift Store Makeovers, Doll Makeovers, Squishy Makeovers, etc. I hope you like what I made!

    @@snowpuppies1 You actually don't! Just fibers that will stick together and create that bond when you stab it. I'm not sure if there's a type of yarn that won't work (if there is, Loon will 100% pick it up and try it), but I've used quite a few to create pins and flat pieces of work. I know, its weird- but consider too that polyfill/fiberfill is synthetic and works really well with the needle felting needle

    Hey Loonius, next time, you can "felt" the center by simply rubbing it between your hands like clay. Make whatever shapes you want. Balls, ovals, snakes... Then finish by covering with wool and needle felt to finish. You can also hand felt that to get it going. Great job on your minis:)

  • @Dreamy1408

    More needle felting yay! They all look so cute! If you wanna go more advanced on felting I advice to look up the different types of needles! The thicker, bigger ones are great for shaping, while the smaller ones are great for details (yep, even for straight lines!!). there is also a barbed star shaped needle that allows you to pull out some of the "inside" wool (if you use felting wool and nothing else for the base) to create some kind of gradient if youre doing fur like surfaces~ Keep up the great work, Loom! You're getting better and better with every piece! Hope to see more felting from you.

  • @bcgrote
    @bcgrote2 жыл бұрын

    You're doing great with this! You can also make wire armatures, wrap them with polyfill and then the wool and pokey poke carefully because wires will dull if not break needles. But after, they are poseable! These came out great!

    Haha I highly recommend using twisted (also called spiral) or star shaped needles. They work faster and you wouldn't have to risk breaking needles with the multi tool. Also use fine needles for small details, I do felting all the time and I can felt a straight line very easily with a fine needle. The gage matters bc if you use a large needle for the face, the face will end up getting shoved into the face fibers like the bat. Also if you use a magic eraser sponge you can cut it and actually use the sponge as the core of a felt. I've seen people felt tvs by cutting the shape out of the magic eraser sponge and felting the colors directly onto it! Edit: the bat is my absolutely fave!!

    Hi, love your videos! Quick tip: if you tousle your wool it becomes way easier to felt. I do this by brushing it in different directions with those dog brushes that are used to remove the inner dog's coat (carding brush?). Merino wool is usually combed in the same direction and it's very smooth so it takes a lot more time to felt. If it's a bit more coarse/carded it takes half the time! It's great to mix colors and create gradients as well!
