Needle Felting My Favorite SQUISHMALLOWS! 2
Ойын-сауық
I keep ending up at Five Below & finding tons of squishmallows while squishmallow hunting, to customize & paint on. I've found quite a few squishmallows, even some rare squishmallows at Five Below, however there are some that I'm still hunting down. Today I'm going to be needle felting some of my top favorite squishmallows including Benny the bigfoot, Archie the axolotl, Emily the bat, and Malcolm the mushroom (sadly no Avery this time). This isn't my first time needle felting, it's actually my second so I'm still a beginner. This time around I didn't need to use a needle felting kit, but this video isn't exactly a needle felt tutorial, hopefully you can still get an idea of how to needle felt by watching it though! I like customizing things and turning them EVIL, it's kind of my thing. In fact I have quite a few series where I do some cheap diys that end up looking pretty chaotic. Other makeover series that I do include Dollar Store Makeovers, Thrift Store Makeovers, Doll Makeovers, Squishy Makeovers, etc. I hope you like what I made!

I think when someone suggested the sponge they might have meant the Mr. Clean type Melanie foam sponges not the scrubby sponge. pretty sure I've seen the channel Maqaroon use that, she's got some great needle felting tutorials
This is probably my favorite series. I would love to see you make a FULL SIZE squishmallow.

That would be the worlds most time consuming (and expensive) squishmallow. Wool isn't exactly cheap 🤣
for thinner pieces, you can also use yarn and stab the yarn together if you didn't want to use felt

@@GraveyardLoon LMAO I would actually like to see that attempt! . It could be a whole video on finding other materials that work with needlefelting after the sponge incident and rating them compared to the sponge 😂😂
@snowpuppies1

Wouldn’t you need yarn that’s mostly wool? Or at least animal fiber??
@fyredance
2 жыл бұрын
@@snowpuppies1 You actually don't! Just fibers that will stick together and create that bond when you stab it. I'm not sure if there's a type of yarn that won't work (if there is, Loon will 100% pick it up and try it), but I've used quite a few to create pins and flat pieces of work. I know, its weird- but consider too that polyfill/fiberfill is synthetic and works really well with the needle felting needle

I love these miniature squishmellows much more than the regular makeovers. They’re so cute and honestly you are naturally very good at needle felting

@@DesiraeIles-bp3zi oh wow I got it closer than usual 😂 I cannot ever remember the correct name and usually call them smoooosh mellows
Hey Loonius, next time, you can "felt" the center by simply rubbing it between your hands like clay. Make whatever shapes you want. Balls, ovals, snakes... Then finish by covering with wool and needle felt to finish. You can also hand felt that to get it going. Great job on your minis:)
More needle felting yay! They all look so cute! If you wanna go more advanced on felting I advice to look up the different types of needles! The thicker, bigger ones are great for shaping, while the smaller ones are great for details (yep, even for straight lines!!). there is also a barbed star shaped needle that allows you to pull out some of the "inside" wool (if you use felting wool and nothing else for the base) to create some kind of gradient if youre doing fur like surfaces~ Keep up the great work, Loom! You're getting better and better with every piece! Hope to see more felting from you.
You're doing great with this! You can also make wire armatures, wrap them with polyfill and then the wool and pokey poke carefully because wires will dull if not break needles. But after, they are poseable! These came out great!
The mushroom and Axolotl are so cute and I love all of your Videos :)

I've been getting into a lot of needle felting lately, and you're absolutely right that it helps with frustration. I'm glad I found this art form and watching you work with it is helping me not feel alone in my newbie struggles 💖
Hey! If your ever traveling to Delaware, on the Rehoboth Beach boardwalk there is a wholeeee store for squishmellows just to stock up on some favorites. And love all your scary videos ❤️💀
Squish mellows! Definitely my favorite series and I’ll say it again and a have several times .
Suddenly interested in needle felting. Adorable. Question: what's with the hamburger buns in the background at the end? Preview for something coming up?

needlefelting is awesome and all, but who else wants to see Loony make his own evil plushies? Maybe even with the most evil of the dark arts (and crafts)........sewing

So when you mentioned the needle felting being therapeutic, it reminded me of me diamond painting for hours and just making myself suffer back pain despite how much I was enjoying the progress
Probably the best round of squishmallows. Good job 👍
These guys would make great magnets, so cute!
Love the vid also you should do a series we’re you customize a deck of cards or a board game.
I tried trimming one of my needle felt pieces and it made it look so much nicer ! Thanks for the tip
I am SO for this series AND the Squishmallow clothing series. *chef's kiss*
YESSS MORE NEEDLE FELTING! I LOVE WHEN YOU DO THESE THINGS
Haha I highly recommend using twisted (also called spiral) or star shaped needles. They work faster and you wouldn't have to risk breaking needles with the multi tool. Also use fine needles for small details, I do felting all the time and I can felt a straight line very easily with a fine needle. The gage matters bc if you use a large needle for the face, the face will end up getting shoved into the face fibers like the bat. Also if you use a magic eraser sponge you can cut it and actually use the sponge as the core of a felt. I've seen people felt tvs by cutting the shape out of the magic eraser sponge and felting the colors directly onto it! Edit: the bat is my absolutely fave!!
These mini versions of the squishmallows are perfect Cat Toys.
Turned out so cute! I love how creative you are. You are good at almost everything I've seen you try to do.
Yay! I started collecting squishmellows, I watched through all your squishmellow videos and I was thinking oh I wish there was another one, lol
I’m so happy you made Benny!
These microscopic squishmallows are really cute and made in the most ✨evil✨ way, your videos put a smile on my face every time

I love Malcom, and almost bought him once. Let’s hope that I see him again. Loving this series, my daughter is a squishmallow collector. I have Benny the shark a few others
Good result! Those are pretty cute little guys!! closed foam works as a stabbing surface, it doesn't come apart or stick to your wool, it just gets softer..
This is my favorite series of yours
Your best video yet! This made me laugh. Great job on your little guys!
These turned out so great!!
You definitely have needle felting in your blood. They are so cute! 😍

i love the axolotl and the mushroom!
Love this so much
They’re so cute but I love them and yeah you’re really good at needle felling I’ve tried it and I find it to be challenging to get the right shapes
Your videos make me laugh every time I watch them
The axolotal is so cute!!
I love it!
im SO happy u did an axolotl. Reminds me of my pet axolotl jordan
Hi, love your videos! Quick tip: if you tousle your wool it becomes way easier to felt. I do this by brushing it in different directions with those dog brushes that are used to remove the inner dog's coat (carding brush?). Merino wool is usually combed in the same direction and it's very smooth so it takes a lot more time to felt. If it's a bit more coarse/carded it takes half the time! It's great to mix colors and create gradients as well!
thank you for saving my evening
That freaking mushroom!! I opened up shipment of those once at my work and put em out the next morning-- only to have people lined up for it x.x haven't seen the suggestive thing since.
I literally just bought Malcom the mushroom at Dollywood today! 😭😂🥰
These little guys are the best. No one else that I follow is doing anything like this. I predict you will get expert proficient and this will be your "thing." I don't know what I mean by that, but I kinda sorta know but whatEV. Have a good weekend.
These came out so cute!! Love the bat. Melamine foam (the stuff magic erasers are made of) is a pretty good center for needle felting too. I like it because you can get a really good shape. Handy for larger pieces, but it's not as nice and soft of a finished item.
I just got my wisdom teeth out and i’m so happy i came home to an graveyard loon upload to relax to!
those turned out really cute! For a work surface, I would recommend a rice bag. I have a zippered canvas cosmetic bag filled with rice that I have been using heavily for 3 years now and it doesn't break down or leave styrofoam on my work. If you want to work faster I love twisted star felting needles. and if you want a fuzzy texture you can use a reverse needle.
I know you despise the toddler with space buns, but I just wanted to let you know my 7, 6, 5, and 3 year old all think this is your best series yet (felting squish mellows) My 2 year old however still enjoys you modifying L.O.L dolls 😂 Never knew you were a family man, did ya? 😂🤣😂
Lol there all so dame cute...your so talented
You saving that polyfil knowing one day you'll use it is the same reason I'm a hoarder.
I love these vids
SO CUTE! 😍 💓
OMG I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Tip: your needles brake from heat and constant use, try taking a break every 15- 20 minutes.
Yayyyyy part 2
I’m so happy you’re needle felting more! It’s my favorite medium! I highly recommend checking out Wool Buddy. I started with his book and then got to meet him at a comic con and he gave me more tips. He’s amazing and I think you’d love his style!
I like you needle felting squish mellows ☺️🥰
When I did needle felting, I used a foam block to felt on like chair foam or whatever. It came in a kit I bought. I wouldn't think a sponge would be good lol.
