He dropped his perception on how his analytical view better matches the current game than other pundits. I disagreed with a lot of his takes though. Suggesting teams ought to stick to their guns in terms of style of play and not adjust based on opponent is wild. Also the whole Matt Turner protection angle was total waffle. Some man ain't good, and going off his past metrics don't justify how shite he was at playing from the back.

@@Coltaine_ Statistically it's better in the long run to stick to their style of play rather than changing it, the numbers show it and that's the reason more and more teams doing it. I disagree with the Matt Turner not making a mistake but saying a player cant do this or that because of one or two season where they haven't performed in that specific area is what I think he tried to get across.

@@Coltaine_But that's what he's saying. From his perspective Turner passed to a man he thought was open, the mistake itself was the pass but the fact that he didn't perceive the situation beforehand (ask defenders who's open, take a sweeping look, etc.). But we say his mistake was the pass, implying he played a poor pass vs played *the wrong* pass. That was his point. And that data stuff is just him saying what clubs are doing whether people like it or not. The scouts can be wrong for sure, but his point was that it's damning to say a player CAN'T do "X" thing because of a one off instance given that knowledge. They scouted for a person who's good with his feet, they watched tapes, they deemed him decent with the ball. Neville and fans don't see, know, or care about that process which causes generalizations and such. Not that the data can't be wrong or it's 100% accurate, not that fans/pundits can't be right, etc. just that that's a perspective people forget a lot.

Nedum was one of my track idols in school. We both went to Hulme Grammar School in Oldham and he had only just left school when I joined. His pictures and feats, rightly so, were plastered all over school given how remarkable and inspirational they were. I was never really close to matching his 100m times but it was still inspiring nonetheless to have someone like him have trodden the same path as you. To hear Mancini called him slow is beyond ridiculous if you'd known his track achievements. I've noticed a couple of comments already commenting on how articulate he is and it should come as no surprise that he was privately educated. Yes the purpose of this comment is to serve as a not so humble brag but also to say I'm proud of him and to have attempted to follow in his footsteps (kinda)

Probably the most screentime I've seen Miles get and he barely got a word in, what a beautiful sight, thank you Nedum!

Let me give you my insight, reason why managers like pep and jurgen klopp are so good is because they can out-think and counter anything the manager and opposition does. What you see in the line up is not necessarily what will happen in game because players are given specific instruction to exploit teams and this is what nedum is basically trying to say.

Nedum was superb... articulate and intelligent....only thing that spoilt it for me was the 2 idiots who shout out stupid remarks and talked over him when he was trying to answer a question....also a shout out to the big lad in the orange top...he is obviously the most sensible, thoughtful and intelligent out of that crew.... thanks Nedum, really enjoyed it ...

talk about mancini's relationship with injuries reminded me of what xherdan shaqiri said back in around 2016: "One time I was injured at Inter and Mancini sent me to a miraculous healer in the mountains. Didn't help me at all. At Stoke we've got seven physios."

The discussion on punditry was good, Nedum wasnt listening on people doing things wrong and tactics he felt right because of data and football isn’t all data, you don’t win games on data. Poet was bang on punditry and fan reactions etc! Nedum was cool though can tell he really loves football

I think it’s disingenuous to say Jamie Carragher doesn’t know ball. He is one pundit that watches ridiculous amount of football including the lower leagues
