Joel - Really appreciate your “Crunchy” in depth reviews of games! You really throw out there all the important stuff to which oneself can make a decision on whether or not to play/purchase a game! Thanks, and Merry Christmas / Happy Holidays!

Great review, very much appreciate all the details. I'm just getting back into all of this after 20 plus years and finally decided to start with this and some Kill Team. Great content here for anyone interested about Necromunda.

Joel, I love how wide and varied your gaming tastes are and that you share that with us all. From BUS to Necromunda. No one else demonstrates their love of gaming from corner-to-corner better. I just wish I had the time to try all of this cool stuff.

Nice review, I finally got a group together to play Necromunda once our KT campaign is over. I really love all the crazy rules that creates the narrative. Unfortunately I fell so far behind in content releases I will never be able to collect it all.

Great review. A solo/co-op mode would be great for Necromunda.

You almost could... except for the Tactics cards (which are a fun part of the game). Otherwise, there's not any real hidden information, and since you are activating figures one by one, that will lend itself to more solo-able play. What might be ideal is throwing a token in a bag representing a figure from each team. And then, you pull the tokens and activate those figures as you pull the token... similar to Bolt Action or Lock and Load games.

I think the bases from Underhive do not really fit to to those from "Dark Uprising" since the squares are somewhat smaller (you can see this at around 2:44 that they do not match)

I know this is a year old, but if you see this, Joel: What are the chances that we see a Warhammer Quest (or something like it) set in Necromunda? I *love* this setting. I think it’s the most interesting GW has ever produced. But...I can’t imagine convincing any of my friends to play this. I got them interested in Warcry, but I don’t see them progressing beyond that point, especially for a game that really shines in a campaign setting. I’m a solo player at heart. WQ is my go to GW line for that reason. Is there any hope for a mashup?

  • @DriveThruReview

I think that's a great idea. I really have no idea if they would ever consider producing something like that though. You could come up with a reason to have different ganger characters from different gangs team-up for the time of the quest. Some of the new video games set in Necromunda do just that with some temporary alliances. And, even depending on the scenario you setup in the tabletop game, temporary alliances are a "thing". I'd be into it for sure!

@@DriveThruReview more important to me is learning curve, first edition of Deadzone have that issue (relativly simple game was hard to learn because of bad rulebook composition). Most of my players don't use english than all rule guide lies on my shoulders 😏.
