She's far more unhinged than hu tao. She's like hu tao with the safety railings off and she was more aggresive with uhhh "prospecting new clients for her coffin business"

Honestly, I wish someone didn't hype it up that much so he can see it without having expectations. Not that deep i know but those things can affect someones opinion

I like the idea that she got so into performing as other people that she lost her sense of self, then add crazy space magic and whatnot

The great part is she makes up stories to fit whatever you think fits her best c: everything she mentions isn’t actually real either I love it. She’s just Sparkle 😍

the three people in the car from left to right are himeko (leg pose), welt (circle eye=glasses), and march (phone taking pictures) basically showing all the cast of Nameless (aside from MC) dead by something 'stabbing' into their chest (the confetti coming out). maybe foreshadowing something unto death will or will try 'kill' them later. just my 2 cents

Unless he gets fucked up by some other party in some way. Oh wait. It's a dream. His old trick with saving his mind/soul inside of the core and reconstructing wouldn't really work here?

@@HamBurgerHam. Well I don't remember if it was outright stated but seemed to be implied by manga/novels and apho story. Or well, rather it was implied that he has his herrscher powers. And Void Archives still called him a Herrscher of reason and said something about Welt being able to create new true star of Eden with reason power. That's the short of it. So he is either a full on herrscher, or closest possible thing to it with same powers. At the very least "superior" to ex Herrschers like Mei for some reason. But it isn't outright explained anywhere fully why he kept his core, or if not - why he is better than others and why Void Archives still calls him a Herrscher or Reason :-/

My personal theory based on the trailers, and her story in her character sheet is: Sparkle has become a title/entity past down. Like there was once a performer that has an onstage character called Sparkle. She was the first to pass over the "character" (along with the mask) to someone else, but at this point it was just stage, no weirdness. Somewhere along the line one of the performers that "played" Sparkle walked a path of Elation and so became an emanator blessed by Aha. This emanator Sparkle used her powers to inhabit her mask, meaning that the next "performer" lost their free will and become a puppet body for the emantor Sparkle (now in the mask) to control. Since then, there has been many "Sparkle" performer/puppets, but they are nothing more than beings controlled by the mask.

You may have missed this but remember what Sparkle said about her wages? "A life of a faker" and she shot herself or the one with the red mask... It can be that she have been acting for so long she would have housed many persona of her targets. She will have to "clean" her own head quite regularly. It will explain why there's a lot of dead Sparkle too.

The term you are looking for is "Emanator", those are the people that are an embodiment of an Aeon, their champion or apostle if you so like

Sparkle has the best trailer from Hoyoverse. It perfectly shows off how unhinged she is. Also, I am slightly biased as the trailer has big Madoka Magica vibes, and that is one of my favorite anime (it may actually be tied with Made in Abyss for my favorite. Do I enjoy seeing children suffer?)

One of my first thoughts seeing her trailers was that Necrit would enjoy this character. She has easily become my favorite havent seen such good characterization in a while.

Sparkle as a character clearly took a bit of inspiration from Kurumi Tokisaki from Date A Live and Batman's The Joker. She is a pretty even mix of the two. Her faith and personality as a whole can be summed up in one word: Chaos. Some in-game dialogue has her saying that she doesn't care whether her plans succeed or the Memokeeper wrecks her. Both outcomes suit her just fine. She is someone who just wants to party in the streets as the world burns around her as shown in the minute long animation.

My theory is that she's an Emanator of Aha/Elation. And considering Emanators are like the most powerful agent of an Aeon, or at times the embodiment of one, it would make sense that if she was 'blessed' by Aha she would be kind of nuts - since Aha is nuts.

Someone mentioned, beside immitating the express members she also act as other characters in the penacony chapter. "What your Wager" -> Aventurine. "Foolishness = pretending to be smart" -> Dr.Ratio. "Fool = Knowing when to act clueless" -> either Firefly or Blackswan. "Someone get in my way" + the fight with robots with katana -> Acheron fought Sam but in the end they both lose to sparkle.

Sparkle randomly resurrected this channel from dead.

I feel like the whole reveal at the end of the first trailer of all those other characters and backgrounds implies that potentially the WHOLE backstory she just gave could be made up. Which is so interesting. There's this running theme of "Who is the real Sparkle" and honestly it feels set up in a way that we aren't meant to trust anything we supposedly "know" about her.

the real her is using half of white and red mask, the one who is her target is fake sparkle (all who is not using the real mask) including full red or full white.

I am of the opinion that the whole trailer was Sparkle having a conversation with the voice in her head (literally Aha) and coming to the conclusion to let them live rent free in there (again in a literal sense). The Star Rail universe seems to be lacking in proper mental health care. Half the cast is kind of unhinged.

Interesting that at the end the white mask falls and leaves only the red mask. Must be that she figuratively killed her true self and now is just a persona of herself or something. Then I assume all the dead sparkles are her resetting herself of the role that she took when playing other people

Hu Tao comps are definitely just the look and that they're both mischevious, but they're wholly different characters. Sparkle has been straight up driven mad by performing, whereas Hu Tao is completely logical. Being a funeral director and wanting more people to die so you can have more clients? That's just cold hard business.

To be honest, that is just legitimate business inquiry. Like what if someone from Mondstabt died in Liyue and she need someone to deliver the cadaver back home to their family? So she is just asking if Kirara offer that service. Hu tao is eccentric but not insane, otherwise Zhongli wouldn't stand her.

if you watch the bullet being loaded in the chamber in slow mo then you see that the bullet was in the last slot. red mask sparkle was playing with white mask sparkle, the like i do part is when white mask sparkle realises this. i think white mask sparkle trying to pull the gun away after is to give time for her to fire 2 shots into red mask sparkle as white mask sparkle showed a reaction that looked like fear when she shot the gun at herself. there's so much characterisation in that short fight.

Honkai Star Rail is so much better at marketing than Genshin it's crazy.

Still can't get why there's so much hype about the trailer. Usually I don't care, but even my friends who play/left the game are loving the trailer, but I just can't get it. And it starts making me feel salty af. I mean it's just a crazy shapeshifter girl with trippy effects on it.

Well....Masked Fools is A-Ha minions. They are organization that serve A-ha, think of them as peoples who make the story of universe more entertaining. But even within the Masked Fool, Sparkle probably the most unhinge out there. Just look at how Sampo reaction to her in the story, Quite funny.

It's a good trailer but I like Kafka's more.

At start I was disappointed with the cast of characters for the entire 2.0 patch, but why didn't we get this type of sparkle in story, this is no doubt the best trailer and it's definatley enough to make her one my my favourite character, but the story for her could have been so much more.
