I fell and broke my Greater Trochanter in May. I’m a 32-year-old amputee with bad bone health and landed on my hip/femur on the amputation side when I fell in the bathroom. I’m used to extreme pain, but this was one of the worst I’ve experienced. Ironically, this saved my life because it turned out that I was in the end stages of Graves’ Disease without even knowing it. Was told I would’ve died by the end of summer without the fall

great review , yet if you could make more focus on common muscle incisions with the surgeries ,it highly effects the exercises and the stats overall...also another question that i had many times but was't able to contact a surgeon about it :is it normal for the rods to be out of the bones ?as in the neck of femur Xray i saw the rods in the neck of femur going out of the greater trochanter .....

Hi Khalid, great video, my first placement was in a neck of femur ward. Just wanted to know your thoughts regarding the use of total hip precautions in many trusts, despite recent evidence showing contradicting them. Some of the exercises you showed could conflict with precautions

Thank you so much MK I appreciate your kind words Yes absolutely, it’s really interesting, in recent times we have seen more and more surgeons suggesting that they are not necessary and they do not include them in post op instructions Ultimately as a surgeon you become responsible for the stability of your patient’s new hip and so whilst it may reduce function a little, I can understand why some surgeons continue to implement them from a protection point of view rather than believing that they are effective and necessary to prevent dislocation

I broke both sides of my neck 4 weeks ago. I am back to normal as in walking and doing stuff but I am limited with neck brace. Sleeping sucks and I usually don’t get much. For many reasons. The neck brace being one and the other the fear I won’t wake up again.

I broke the ball of my hip joint in half right in the middle of the ball needless to say I had to have a total hip replacement. I thought I bruised my muscle and hobbled around on crutches for 3 weeks it wasn’t until I came down with Covid pneumonia and ended up in ICU that I got the hip fixed. I was 68 at the time and have severe osteoporosis. I will say one thing the hip replacement was so much easier the. My knee replacement.

Hello Sir, My age is 34, I had an accident (self fall) and just done with the femoral neck surgery (garden 2) with CC screws and there is no other injuries on body apart from this. Doctor suggested 30 days bed rest and then they will check the status. Now it's my 18th day and I'm on bed only since 18 days. I have no other health issues. So my question is will it be a very serious issues for me in future? Won't I be normal and strong like before? Please guide and tell me your view on this .

@@kissnaablogs4122 Hello, It's been almost 5 months since my accident and surgery. I can walk normally as before. No pain like before. I'm almost 95% recovered and I can ride a bike also, and within a month I will be as normal as before. So the thing is in starting stage or when we are on complete bed rest it's normal that we think about it so much and lot of questions wondering in our mind but trust me it's not as tough or difficult as it's looks in starting so please have a patience, you will be all okay one day. But please follow your doctor take medicine on time and eat food, vegetables , fruits and non-veg those are having calcium, protine, vitamines. Get well soon.
