This move actually works. Its one of the reasons actual trained fighters hook their feet on their opponents' hips, to stop them from doing this. The takedown and chop at the end was grade-A BS though 😂

The whole point of submission holds is you have the leverage advantage. If you get caught in a hold realistically you're not getting out unless you're much stronger than the other guy. All these self defense tips are nonsense especially in the context of a woman breaking a hold from a man. Don't get caught in it in the first place because if you do it's game over.

If you turn your head to the side, then at least for a man, taking into account laryngeal prominence, it will be much easier to breathe. It makes sense to immediately understand how the enemy’s head is located behind your shoulder, whether there is an opportunity to grab the hair or hit the eyes, or use the corner of the smartphone as a weapon. Also, if you can reach his fingers, you can try to use your entire palm to press the joint of one of the fingers.
