She had already understood it by the end of Season 5, the Lumen season. Not everybody liked that season, but it wasn't harkened back to enough when Deb finally found out that Dexter was the person behind that plastic sheet, and she personally let him and "#13" escape because she at her core approved of their mission.

@@reggiejames1986 Deb put it together, but they never overtly showed the realization that Dexter was behind that plastic curtain. So lame. Idk which episode.... prob first half of season 7 while Deb was figuring things out. If I remember correctly, she just asked Dex about that "tenant" he had back in season 5, and that she was actually one of the barrel girls. Something like that. That was it though!... really disappointing for something she was portrayed as being so invested in and compassionate about in S5.

That was personal. Lumen killing her abusers was personal and Debra could appreciate her going after them. Dexter going out of his way to kill people unrelated to him is impersonal and less justifiable to her

@@aprilecotton2060 that’s like saying a drug addict loves drugs just because he does them. When if you ask a drug addict they’ll say they hate it. It’s the same principle here for Dexter. Just because he did it for years doesn’t mean he liked it. He’s always felt like a slave to his impulses.

He doesn't like to kill anymore than an addict loves to shoot up: it's a relief, satisfying The Dark Passengers demands. Like relieving yourself from withdraw and the mental power it has over you and your body.

Yes but do you think people enjoy discipline? No. Nobody likes to be restrained and everybody loves to do drugs if they decide to do them. It isn't about liking stuff it's about doing the right stuff. If you wanna smoke weed all day you can but there are consequences. Dexter just keeps those consequences away as long as possible destroying every person he ever cared for in the process and still dying quite "young" anyway. If that was his goal... I guess he won lol.

Dexter and Debra were very close to each other and they were really made for each other. ❤️😢

Her finding out ... is what got dexter through that last bit trauma ... calling him out on his blood slides ... he had vanquished his dark passageer... then deb dies and his dark passageer returns and you can tell he ain't right in New Blood lol ... he had his full character development and then quickly snatched away

The slides are everything. It's part of accountability.

I don't think I've ever been so happy to see a character get killed off . . . I feel like a jerk. Still, Louis was JUST SO GODDAMN ANNOYING! It was a kind of a relief, really, to see him go.

Apparently I am not people,because I've been always aware of Dexter doing immoral things and I do and did not like it. I don't appreciate vigilantism and I'm convinced it would lead to degeneration of our society. What I do like about Dexter is his integrity. Sure he killed innocent and it will happen again, but normally he kills only when he's 100% sure and theoretically he follows his code. Furthermore I like that he doesn't have to hide (in his freetime), he can live out his innermost urges.

yep they have THREE spinoff shows in the works: Dexter origins, season 2 of new blood and possible Trinity spinoff. Can't wait and super thankful that Showtime wants to do this!!

SPOILER ALTER!! I hate it!!!! I really wanted to know WHYYY Louis was doing this, why he was so interested in Dexter, if he know everything about Dexter and how he was able to know it, and if there was a connection to the IceTruckKiller. Now possibly all these questions will not be answered anymore!
