In regards to so much that you said, absolutely to all of that with sharing a similar parallel. I became enamored with the Universal Monsters circa '84 maybe when I was 4. Back then, there was so many amazing things to be into, but they still stood apart from the rest. Only thing is I never sat down from start to finish and watched all the movies. So pretty much whenever I could catch them on TV, that's the only time I've gotten to watch any. *Crazy how my favourites are the Wolfman and Creature too. It's all about the creature aesthetics, and they definitely resonate the most. Always been a sucker for anthropomorphic characters.

I really like the video as an owner of both jadas and Neca great job!

I really enjoyed this video, it was great to see them compared side to side! So far I am collecting all of the NECA ones but I do also have a few of the Jada ones - including the Invisible Man, because the accessories just looked so cool, plus it's an entirely different outfit.

The Neca box is great to keep the additional accesories safe and also for storing.

to me the snowcoat and fedorah is more iconic for invisible man when you first see him

I’d buy him in any outfit. Did you see the new Monster Force figures? They have a fresh take on the invisible man named “Eraser”. Looks pretty cool.

I do think if you want figures that really capture the look and feel of the monsters from these movies, NECA's are your best bet. Like they are I think the "ultimate" versions of the universal monsters. It depends on what you want though, jada toys ones have their charm and if they are for a six inch scale collection definitely have their place as well as having that Halloween mask/merchandise art vibe which is how alot of people associate these characters

It sounds like we’re on the same page. Both are fun for different reasons so it comes down to personal preference. I have since bought the Neca Dracula and it’s beautiful.

Neca hands down. Although I have some Jada, too. I want to put them on display, not use them as toys. Been a Universal Monsters fan since 1964 when I saw "A&C Meet Frankenstein" on TV. I collected almost all of the Aurora Models, which helps explain why I'm more interested in "display pieces" rather than "action figures".

Mike, just like you "LOVE" all of Universal Monsters. My favorite? The Creature From The Black Lagoon. Why? Time to take a trip in a time machine. The early 60's my mother took me to a store...in that store was a magical part "called" BINGO! you got it the toy dept. On, one of the selfs I saw him. A long box that had a picture of the Creature (i.e Gillman) painted on it. The box? Was a plastic model kit of the Creature from a plastic model company called AURORA. Now, 2023 I collect all Universal Monsters items etc. Monster mags.,T-shirts,Comic books, Action figures,Dvd's, Pictures 8x10's, Model kits - Plastic, Resin, and Vinyl as well. Neca or Jada? For me hard choice! Love both. Thanks,for telling me about Jada's Wolfman and The Invisible Man did'nt know about them. Started buying Neca monsters but just to much money...Ou'ch! But trying to buy the "new" Neca / Remoc large scaled figures. Also, Neca as two versions of their figures Black/White and Colored versions. I think they both serve a shelf purpose. The neca figures are awesome to go with your other movie monsters (Freddy, Jason, M. Myers, etc.) for realism and such, but the Jada figures are better to fit in with your ML display. Sik

I love Jada's wardrobe choice for Invisible Man, but overall, I've just been astonished by the likenesses and detail of the NECA figures. I've collected the full line thusfar - the color versions - including the accessories packs. Currently my favorite line from NECA

I plan to get all the Neca ones eventually but other than the 2 in this video I only have Dracula thus far. All in colour but I’m leaning towards black and white for the creature. And possibly glow in the dark Frankenstein.

I think if you want to distinguish each Figure Line, it would be like this. Neca represents the specific Universal Monster Movie. Where as Jada Toys represents the Universal Monster Character overall. Neca = Movie. Jada Toys = Character. That's how I see it anyway.

So many continue to bring up the point that NECA's figures aren't so much for posability; but for me, everything after their OG stuff (Jareth the Goblin King, Beetlejuice, etc.) has been plenty poseable for me. Just sayin' that you can pretty much recreate any pose the characters did in the movies, but absolutely they're not like kids toys. So if I was one to keep a "pocket fig" on me, it certainly wouldn't be NECA lol. Since I went with NECA over the Jada Toys stuff (not to mention I've never seen a single Jada figure in stores), really hoping sooner than later they do the more iconic invisible man in their fancy smoking robe. Besides that, I hope they get to doing the Lon Chaney Quasimodo. Definitely don't wanna end up getting the Diamond Select version to fudge in. Oh, and it'd be cool if they make that Lon Chaney clown....and (albeit not Universal Monsters) the Man Who Laughs. Since they're dabbling in those old German horror movies now, I'm sure they'll get to it.

I mean I could tell right away you're Canadian, but damn, 60 loonies per NECA figure is a crazy hard pill to swallow 😬. I mean that'd be fine if the average wage was like $25 an hour. As a major OG collector too, my heart goes out to ya. And I'm definitely struggling with the space issue, cause I _reeeeally_ don't wanna throw away these NECA boxes. If only they didn't make 'em so damn beautiful lol.

It’s cool to hear we have the same favourites. 60 loonies (or 30 twoonies) is a lot so I still haven’t pulled the trigger on Frankenstein or the Mummy but I’m sure I will eventually. Perhaps the cheaper glow in the dark versions. Scrapping boxes is tough. I literally just threw out a bunch of my Super7 Ultimates boxes and it was painful.

I bought the jada Wolfman, i love it.

I'd say Neca has the better details but Jada has the more iconic version of the invisible man. Those glasses just make him look mean.

I agree with you. It’s probably because most merchandising favours the bathrobe look, but that’s what I think of when I think of the invisible man. Thanks for watching and commenting.

Listen, I have so many like I’m not gonna say so many, but I have some Neca figures and I have figures from Nico and when I drop them occasionally, they don’t just shattered pieces like shards of glass. They’re not like super fragile and like if you chuck off a skyscraper they probably shatter but like if you drop them off like let’s just a 5 foot high shelf. Nothing was really happening at the absolute most. It’s most likely maybe like their arm would fall off and that’s the absolute most. I don’t get why this guy thinks toys are made of glass now but I don’t get it. It’s just like toys are not this fragile it doesn’t make sense whatever but I just don’t get.

Toys definitely break when they fall from a shelf to the floor. Maybe not every time but I’ve seen it happen plenty. Toys also break right out of the packaging on occasion if you’re not careful. I’ve seen that happen plenty too. Maybe you’ve been lucky but I recommend most people handle these with care.

Neca is pretty poseable Creature alone has like over 30 pints of articulation including some barbell joints

True. But I think they’re a little scarier to pose due to the type of plastic. Feels more prone to snap.

@@Hylandboy1 it depends , I always buy a couple extra just in case for certain figures I really like. But this creature seems pretty durable. Like the paint job doesn’t make the joints stick the way the older ones did. And this creature seems to be closer to a Hasbro in terms of durability. I haven’t had a neca figure break in me since the older predators. Luckily target or Walmart take them back off there are any defects- I was scared to pull the creatures hands off because they are so tight but they’ve come off and on with no issues so far. I don’t know if they’ve started using different materials but they don’t seem to tear as easily as prior releases

I think the NECA universal monsters is more realistic then the Jada universal monsters I had the NECA universal monsters from Frankenstein, Dracula, wolf man, The mummy, creature from the Black lagoon, invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein , and phantom of the Opera all NECA universal n jade universal monsters I have Frankenstein , Dracula Bride of Frankenstein, invisible Man, wolfman, creature from the Black lagoon my opinion is the NECA universal monsters is better because they make them like the actors from the movies do the actors

It’s almost indisputable that the Neca ones are objectively better but if you want a wolfman to fight your Marvel Legends Spider-Man than Jada wins out.

the Jada's are so much better.... only 20 bucks and they aren't nearly as fragile.

The Jada ones are fun. But there’s no denying the sculpts on the Neca figures.

Why would you get rid of the boxes after you buy the figures then? Just like where are you gonna put the figures like? Where would you think you could just display them? But then you just have all these bits and pieces lying about? It just seems so unnecessary and also just why so why do you throw out the boxes? Why do you just like keep them at the side to display the things? It just doesn’t make sense, why does he go? And also why does he say that? It’s extra trouble to open up the boxes to see the things inside? It is not that hard. You doesn’t use like seven muscles in your arm to reach out and grab the box. The thing it doesn’t make sense why? Why it’s just it’s so unnecessary. Why does it why I don’t know? I don’t have anything else say but just why?

I certainly don’t have room to display or even store thousands of boxes. Thanks for watching and commenting though.

I didn’t say why is the sky just can’t like somehow just find a way to not have some complaints like why does he always have to complain about stuff like toy companies don’t have like an unlimited budget they can’t make perfect figures. There’s no such thing as perfect Lego can’t make perfect no toy company can ever make this truly perfect. But I don’t know why this guy can just accept.
