Hey, I am coming to Ireland for 10 days in March and trying to decide what lenses to bring. I current shoot with a Sony A6400. Could you recommend some lenses and if filters are needed? Maybe even some good locations.

Hi Peter, it really depends on what you want to shoot and from what location. There's a dark sky site in County Mayo that has some of the darkest skies on the planet, no need for filters. But if you're staying around the city you should bring light pollution filters. In relation to lenses I love using a combination of my Sigma 24mm and Samyang 135mm (tracked) but it really depends on what you have available to you.

@@nebulosityireland I have a lot of time to travel while there and I want to make the most of my time. I am flying into Dublin and have an event there on day 2 but the rest is free time. The two lenses I use the most is Rokinon 135mm F2 and Rokinon 14mm F2.8 Ultra Wide. I also use the Sky-watcher 2i pro. I hope to get some deep-sky and Lunar shots. I am very new to Astrophotography. I looked on light pollution map and yeah I will bring a filter.

@@Hib.wow24 that equipment should be perfect. Lots to image with that setup, hopefully we have lots of clear skies. 😉
