I have two of these lights. I have never used them for bushcrafting but I wouldn't be afraid to. I am a plumber & I use these everyday. Of the multiple thousands of dollars of tools I own this is my most used tool. I don't use the headband so I can't comment on that. My stays clipped to the bill of my hat. The reason I have two is because I use my on the higher powers & they don't last that long. When you are in an attic or a crawl space there isn't much worse than having your light die. Except maybe snakes. They are small enough & cheap enough I just keep another with me. They are like any other rechargeable item. When they die they die. Lights that are battery powered tend to start going dim when the batteries are dying. Rechargeable stuff just dies. If your out in the woods I would definitely recommend carry at least two of them, otherwise as he said it may be a couple before you have light again if you have to recharge it. The best is subjective but I would definitely recommend this light.

Hi Neil, nice to hear you were not sent the item by a supplier and like other KZreadrs are possibly compelled to give it biased reviews. Can you confirm the battery life on full beam after owning and using the torch for a while. I appreciate the torch has good battery life, but as you know, after a few years use, it reduces significantly. Thanks

From South Africa... Now, let me start by saying I thoroughly enjoy your videos, but.... yes there is a but.... We don't have woods ! We also, don't have much in the way of snow ! If memory serves, the last snow in Johannesburg (where I live) was in 1964.... We have hot savanna . any chance of a couple of videos in hot savanna ? RGDS Warren.

Hmm, reads like some of your viewers went to bed with a sore head! This seems like kit worth looking at, and being suitable for running makes it somewhat special, certainly many head-torches are too heavy for running, as you state. Thanks Neil, I’ll take a look when I’m in BnQ next time. Les

Nebo makes decent flashlights 🔦 as well. I’ve had a 3 AAA battery model for quite a few years now that I carry on a belt holster that has a built in glass breaker around the lens. What I really like is the thumb button that turns it on & off & it’s just one mode of operation making it nice & simple. They make a very affordable & durable line of lights.

Neil, followed your lead again and just snagged this torch of Amazpn for £12.40. Hadn't purchased earlier as already had the NEBO Rebel headtorch and 2 x NEBO LUMO' 25 lumen clip lights along with my Olights and MagLites. I'd seen it in your previous videos but at the time it was too expensive to justify acquiring, 2days purchase with -38% discount was fortuitous. I look fwd to its arrival and use. The Lumo's are excellent as in tent lights as the 25 lumens provides very decent illumination.Look fwd to your next vid. Atvb Malcolm

I've had mixed experiences with Nebo products. The Slyde (non rechargable) is great, and got me try some of their other lights. The Redline Flex is a great little light out of the box, but both of mine have developed bad problems with dimming and battery issues that weren't remedied with new batteries. The Inspector's pen light has been pretty well behaved so far, as has the Transcend headlamp. Unfortunately, I haven't had either long enough to feel comfortable saying they won't take a a sharp turn like my Redline Flexes did, but here's hoping they ironed out that issue. I did end up using the Transcend a couple of months ago when my father and I were helping one of his friends drop some trees on his land, and when it got dark and time to gather up everything, it really did a nice job.

I've had similar experiences with some of their products in the past as well. I recently purchased a Nitecore NU25 as a lightweight headlamp option. I've been using it for a couple months or so and so far I'm very impressed with the light. It is rechargeable, has a max output of 380 lumens, I believe, with three white light settings (low, medium, high). It also has a separate white light mode that has the color temp of daylight if that's important to anyone plus it has a separate switch for red light mode with different intensities plus a blinking red light. It cost me about 40.00 USD, but seems to be worth every penny due to its versatility and tiny, lightweight size.

IPX-4 isn't waterproof. 160 lumens is a pretty low high setting. From what I can see, you can't change the battery easily. 3 hours isn't a very long run time. I can buy a headlamp at Dollarama in Canada for $5 CAD that does everything this does besides the green and red lights.

The best headlamp for bushcraft? The best headlamp for bushcraft is the headlamp you like the best. Tired of everyone trying to put everything into boxes. their is no such thing as a bushcraft knife. Their is no such thing as a bushcraft pack. their is no such thing as a bushcraft head lamp. the best of anything, for anything, is 100% personal choice.

You know what, I think this is a very underrated comment. If a lot of these channels said a "great option" for bushcraft that would be more realistic. Iv owned a few "best for" things over the years and gone back to old faithful items. And as far as headtorches go, anything other than a Petzl, in my experience, breaks. Others swear by Olight, to each there own. Although I just noticed in the title he has a question mark to be fair.

@@akanonymoss I tend to buy the high end off brands when it comes to headlamps and flashlights. brands like skilhunt, nite numen, sofirn and wurkkos. All make high end lights at reasonable prices. These were either up and coming companies that didn't make it or they are companies that make high end lights that are on their way up. Either way, they make great lights.

this is nearly a good torch but it has an infuriating button press sequence. so badly designed. also it strobes a lot, no good for taking photos , and loooks weird if you try cycling. why is it so hard to make a decent head torch? the battery life is poor also, i'd rather slightly larger unit with useable battery life
