Ғылым және технология

The Corsair K70 was the second keyboard I ever bought, and I’ve been in love ever since. So, with this new release I just had to get one.

    This is the second video of yours I’ve seen and both have helped me decide which mouse and keyboard to purchase. They’re thorough and informative and you present the information really well (read: helpful and humorous without being annoying). I feel that with a slightly improved production value your views could lift to the numbers you deserve. In saying all of that, thank you, well done, and you’ve earned another subscriber. Keep up the good work!

    I really appreciate the constructive criticism and kudos. I definitely take that to heart in trying to create even better content and it is comments like these that allow that to happen. So seriously thank you. Also, welcome to the family Michael, I'm very happy you are here. And I'm excited for your new mouse and keyboard purchases.

    I'm going to be honest with you. I've been trying to answer this comment for a month now. But I keep forgetting to actually get the keyboard out and measure it (as I tend to answer comments at work in between patients). At this point I'm calling it quits but didn't want to leave you hanging. So I figured a disappointing answer of me not doing this was better than no answer at all.

    Does it work 8000 hz right out the box or you have to set it up from the software?

  • @ThomasMuehler

    @ThomasMuehler

    No, it comes stock at 1,000 Hz. So, you have to download ICUE then set it to 8.000 Hz. At which point it will save to the keyboard itself and you can set ICUE to either not start with your computer or delete it. Assuming you don't use the other features.

    Is the k100 rgb led brighter than k70 pro?

    I'm gonna be honest. I keep meaning to test this but I continue to forget. From memory I do not remember one being brighter than the other. But the K100 has edge lighting so would be brighter in that sense.

    I can’t stand that hollow ping when bottoming out the keys. Kills any chance of me buying it imo.

    I don't blame you. It's a common issue for a lot of keyboards. But if you enjoy the rest of it you could always take it apart and add a foam pad to prevent that from happening. Granted at this price should you need to do that? Debatable.

  • @ThomasMuehler

    There are some keyboards (mostly custom built ones) that you can add a foam pad in the middle to prevent the pinging from happening. I think there are other things you can do as well. But most of the time it is a custom mod you do. Some keyboards such as the Razer Huntsman V2 have it already installed (due to customer complaints on previous boards) but with it being mass produced may not be as good as some custom jobs.

    @@vincentdemagalhaes2452 I agree that it likely has a lot of hollow spaces and that we aren't supposed to fix it ourselves. But does that stop people?! lol It will likely go on sale and you'll be able to regularly find it for around $120 - 130. As for more features or better built quality for the price. Definitely won't find more features for less. Better build quality I'm on the fence for. Especially, if you are looking at retail and excluding custom built (which likely would be similar in price anyways and would have less features). But I'd be happy to be proven wrong on that one. But the bottom line is most people don't need all that tech and if you do something like the GMMK with Panda switches from Glorious is excellent. But you'll get less features for at least the same price if not a bit more but arguably will have better build quality and feel.

    @@ThomasMuehler I'm not an expert and I don't want to spend my money trying every keyboard in the world (plus I never find what I'm looking for in the stores to try) - but here's my point of view : In Germany, this K70 RGB Pro cost 200€. As I was saying, for the same price I can have either a Ducky One 3 or Wooting Two HE. The Ducky is clearly better built and sounds better thanks to the foam I assume. And the Wooting have more interesting features (can adjust actuation point for example). Other examples, for 250€ the Asus ROG Claymore II is expensive as hell, but at least it's among the very few Keyboards on which you can have the Numpad on the left. Which is VERY interesting to me, as the NumPad is annoying when gaming, but I need it for pretty much everything else. Or for less than half the Corsair price, I saw the Pulsar Lunar Alloy or the Sharkoon Skiller SGK60. Which both looks like being higher value pick. I'm not trying to start a war or anything, and I watched your review because I was interested about the Keyboard obviously. But I'm kind of sick of this Gaming Keyboard Market. My first and only Keyboard was a Roccat Ryos MK Pro. Which was ridiculously bad. Like lot of dead LEDs in weeks, oddly dried scratchy switches etc.. Then I purchased the Corsair k70 MK2 Low profile years later. Which I liked A LOT. But the switches were just too sensitive for me. I learned with it that I need switches that have actuation points above 1mm, because I tend to let my fingers rest on the Keys which led to accidental presses. And ever since, I'm still looking for a Keyboard that I can keep for like half a decade or so. I don't want to renew my stuff too often. I'm the sort of guys that keep his phone for like half a decade before buying a new one. Anyway, still, from all the Keyboard I've talked about, I still find the Corsairs, especially the K70 RGB Pro, to be the one that looks the best ! I think it's important for something that takes so much space on the desk (I care far less about the look of the mouse for example). But yeah, for 200€ this keyboard is just overpriced and it's a joke that it's not better build (foam, less hollow spaces) or more improvements. I still don't know which ones I will chose... I've been looking for years lol. Maybe I'll pick the Corsair and add some O-rings on it, wait 2 years for the end of the warranty, then mod it with foam and lube the switches (but It would be smarter to build a custom keyboard instead for the hassle I think).

    Personally I think this is also a near perfect keyboard just that it lacks 1 thing for me, I like matte keycaps.

    I agree, it is a wonderful keyboard and I'm certainly a big fan. Personally, I prefer their OPX switches and TKL size. Which they came out with! So, I'm happy. Also, the Matte Keycaps are easily rectified. You can always buy that third party. Which honestly, would probably be higher quality anyways.
