Neal Schon's 1992 Les Paul Signature Prototype

Which came first, the chicken or the egg? Or maybe Neal Schon or Brad Gillis putting a floyd rose on a Les Paul guitar. Today we check out one of Journey's legenadry axeman Neal Schon's prototype Gibson Les Pauls.

Schon and Lukather both incredibly under-appreciated. People spend way too much time criticizing bands or players that aren't "my kind of music" but it doesn't change peoples greatness. You don't like blues? Doesn't diminish Albert Kings greatness either. Really enjoy your insights and the incredible guitars you share with us

Good stuff! What I want to know all about is the Les Paul he uses in the "Send Her My Love" video. It appears to be some kind of burst Les Paul. It has the parallel inlays as is here. Big question from me is were those STOCK pickups in that Les Paul or were they Dimazio's? My guitar journey is currently taking me down the path of learning the whole song(Send Her My Love). The solo in that song is one of the best I ever heard.

Back in the mid 1970s a Guitarist in a rival band played a '54 Goldtop he'd routed out himself for a Stratocaster bridge/tremolo, he called that guitar his "Fart Smeller"....LOL Back then, seeing a tremolo on a Les Paul was like spotting a UFO landing in your front yard! 🛸 👍 😉

Hello there, Ive been a regular viewer and subscriber for a few months now, and I have a question , how do you aquire these guitars you use, now this is the 2nd Neal Schon guitar Ive seen you showcase in last few weeks ( I dont know if the Butterscotch Lp was actually one of Neals own guitars ) but you have showed quite a few celeb guitars , do you own any of these LP ? Just curious because you always have some really neat guitars on your show. Really enjoy watching your channel, and yes I think you should get the EPI Greeny LP everything barks Gibson and its only $1500, there arent many Gibson headstocked Epiphones Im aware of it may have a great resell value in a few years. Just my opinion, keep up the great work ! E.L.

90% of what you see on this channel is mine, some of the wild wild wild stuff belongs to my business partner for this channel and I've been curating guitars for him for almost 25 years. I bought a lot of three heritage series (1982/83 flying v, moderne and explorer set) about a decade back and it came with a schon v. Years later neal did an auction so that guitar I got for pennies on the dollar. The schon in this video belongs to my business partner and was purchased for pennies on the dollar during covid. Not from neal but from a family member. I personally have 185 guitars but my partner has about 75 more that are ALL INSANE and I purchased about 80% of them over the last two decades. We also send one another guitars back and forth, so essentially, my collection and his collection are a giant Neurotic Guitarist collection. Hope that makes sense

I must admit the Neal Schon Gibson Les Paul signature is an incredible instrument! my only reserve is about the weight.... but it contribute to the tone I suppose?
