7:01 one of the best choirs ive heard in any metal song
Oh my god 😍😍😍 finally some new decent live videos...
Possibly the best concert combo ive seen - Ne Ob + Wintersun I regret not knowing Ne Ob that much at that time, would have enjoyed their set alot more if I did.
I listen to Ne Obliviscaris for a long time now in the shadows, and they're my alltime favorite band. Their songs are on another level. The live performance is getting better aswell!! You can clearly see how much they've grown. The growls have more range and the cleans are on point and with more confidence. Nothing beats the studio versions for me though. It just reaches a harmony you simply can't get live.

It's a violin, not a viola, but yes! He explained in an interview somewhere that he needed to write the part very specifically so he could sing and play at the same time (he needed to fret low so he wouldn't need to anchor the violin with his jaw)

If this was from the tour with Wintersun then I saw the Philly show. I was so impressed I bought the Urn vinyl from the merch booth. They were brilliant. 😍

Urn pt 2 sounds so much heavier here than it does on the album hahaah thats awesome

I actually think it sounds much the same. It may sound a little different based on the contrast of going from Libera I vice Urn I. IMO, Libera is the superior song set, so maybe it just fits with Urn II (which is definitely a phenomenal closer, don't get me wrong).
@Ben-xj2rf

R. Andrew Hart Libera’s definitely better than Urn as a whole, but I think Urn II is one of the strongest songs on the album.

i feel bad for the band. this was a wintersun crowd that didnt know what they were getting into. Amazing show nonetheless but my favorite from them was at petit campus. was way more personal. Too bad with covid shit these kind of shows wont be happening in some time.
Toujours un plaisir !!!!!!
Missed this show, but I sure as Hell won't miss another!

When NeO had to find the new bassist I must admit I had my doubts coz bass is such a key component of the band but FUCK ME this dude is good! Now it's time for them to shut me the fuck up again and find a drummer just as good as Dan Presland, though, let's be honest, that's probably like finding a needle in a hay stack,.

Most metal music isn't really good for moshing. Moshing leans more towards "core" and djent bands since their rhythm sections are kind of meant for "dancing".
The clicky drums triggers on the bass drums don't suit their music.
@badjaytea9328

Problem with how fast Dan is, it would sound muddy and yuck if it weren't for triggers, but I get what you're saying
@thomasdraper8935
4 жыл бұрын
@@badjaytea9328 I agree that it might be muddy in the faster bits. It would be interesting to see him use a double kick setup like Patrice Hamelin from Gorguts. He has a triggered bass drum for blasting and double bass runs, but also a smaller acoustic kick drum for slow parts.
@ChristoRedentor777
3 жыл бұрын
@@thomasdraper8935 he does have dual hi-hats with pedals for each on either side as well but the acoustic kick with the double pedal setup sounds interesting if it could all fit logidtically

What are clicky drum triggers? Can you explain what that means to a non educated music listener?
@Quasar126
Жыл бұрын
@@NuclearFisshion Listen to the double bass of the drums, instead of sounding like a drum it sounds like "dtdtdtdtdtdtdtdtdtdtdtdtdt" thats the triggered drum, meaning its connected to a soundboard that plays that sound whenever the drum is hit (the drummer is still playing the song, but the hits are automated to when he hits the kick drums) it would sound alot nicer if it was a regular real double bass sound instead of the click
