Ayanavilli, East Godavari District
The strange tradition of Ainavilli Vinayaka Swamy is that before the annual exams held every year i.e. in the 2nd and 3rd week of February, Vinayaka Swamy anoints him with one lakh pens and presents them as prasad to the students. Students believe that if they write the exam with these pens, they will stand topper in the exam with good marks.
Kanipakam, Chittoor District
Kanipaka Kshetra is one of the first Swayambhu temples in Andhra Pradesh state. This temple was built in AD. Built by Chola Raja in the 11th century. It is remarkable that in Kanipakam, even today, the idol of Vinayaka is still standing in Nuti. Brahmotsavams are celebrated here on the day of Vinayaka Chavithi.
Chodavaram, Visakha town
Vinayaka temple is famous in Chodavaram of Visakha town. Lord Ganesha here also shines as Swayam Bhu. This temple was built in AD. Built in 15th century. After Kanipakam in Chittoor district, the second Swayambhu Kshetra, this Kshetra has gained prominence. Devotees believe that if they visit the Swami here, their desired works will be fulfilled.
Bikavolu, East Godavari
A famous shrine of East Godavari is Bikkaolu Lakshmi Ganapati Temple. Many temples were built here during the Eastern Chalukya period. Among them, this Lakshmi Ganapati temple, which should be mentioned mainly, was built in AD. Built in the 9th century. The main highlight of this temple is the 11-foot Ganesha idol. It is the largest of all the idols erected during the Eastern Chalukya period.
Sakshi Ganapati Temple, Srisailam
Sakshi Ganapati temple is located two kilometers away from Srisailam main temple. This Swami is popularly known as Sakshi Ganapati, as he testifies to Lord Shiva in Kailasam that devotees have visited Srisaila Maha Kshetra. It is mentioned in Srinath's Kashikhandam that this witness Ganapati is inscribed with the names of the devotees in his hand with a tondo turned to the right, carved in fine black stone. Pilgrims who come to visit Srisaila Kshetra must visit this Swami.
Patala Vinayakalayam, Kalahasti
In the Patala Vinayaka temple near the north gopuram of Sri Kalahastiswaraswamy temple, which is considered to be the oldest temple in South India, Vinayaka is in the underworld. It is customary for all the devotees who visit Sri Kalahastiswara Swamy to serve this Swami. Devotees consider the darshan of Lord Ganesha to be very auspicious.
